When you think of appliances, the iconic KitchenAid brand should come to mind. Their dishwashers are stylish, high-tech, and usually quite expensive.

However, we've found this great deal which gets you $400 off a stainless steel, three-rack dishwasher this Black Friday.

Tired of boring white goods? Samsung's premium Bespoke range of appliances delivers stylish, colorful dishwashers that come in a variety of colorways.

Their price is usually eye-watering and out of budget for most, but the brand has some great Black Friday savings, like this deal below on the Bespoke Smart Dishwasher in a beautiful Tuscan Steel finish.

Hi, Mina here! I'm the Deputy Editor at Top Ten Reviews, and I spend my days finding the very best appliances for our readers.

Dishwashers are a vital part of many households, but they're also an expensive appliance. I'm currently busy scouring the internet to find great discounts on dishwashers, so you can bag your dream machine for less.

Currently, the number 3 pick in our best dishwashers (opens in new tab) buying guide is $97 off on Best Buy, bringing it below $500. You can read more about this model in our full review here (opens in new tab), to find out if it's the right choice for you.

We rated this Whirlpool dishwasher 4.5 stars out of 5, and we think it's the best value model you can find at the moment.

If you've been holding out on making a purchasing decision, enter the cheapest option on this blog so far.

Another great 24" inch dishwasher, this Insignia model has three adjustable racks and a smart wash system that automatically chooses the best cycle for your dishes based on how soiled they are.

Smart features and a classy stainless steel look, all for under $450? Yes please!

now $449.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Insignia Top Control Dishwasher | was $549.99, now $449.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)
This dishwasher is designed to make doing your dishes as easy and efficient as possible. With a top control panel, 3 racks and Sensor Wash settings you will get spotless dishes every time. Its filter system helps to save water and energy by separating dirty and clean water into separate chambers to minimize the amount of hot water needed - this feature will save you money in the long run. If you have heavily soiled dishes there is also a sanitizing option with high water temperatures that will kill any bacteria and remove large amounts of food from your dishes.

Hey, it's Amy Cutmore here. I've been writing about appliances for more than 15 year and will be dropping in with a few tips and tricks for dishwashers.

First, there are a few buys that will keep your new dishwasher running smoothly. If you have managed to pick up a Black Friday dishwasher on sale (well done by the way), there are a few things you can pick up now that will go with it very nicely indeed!

To keep your dishwasher running smoothly, it's a smart idea to give it a regular refresh with a dishwasher cleaner. These Finally Fresh Dishwasher Cleaner And Deodorizer tablets (opens in new tab) are currently on sale at Amazon, down from $19.99 to $9.84, and they come highly recommended. They'll remove oil residue and limescale that can cause long-term damage, as well as deodorizing the cavity.

We'd also recommend a good rinse aid. This will help everything dry better (because who loves grabbing still-damp plates from the dishwasher. It also makes glassware sparkle and prevents smear marks. You can get a three-pack of Finish Jet-Dry Rinse Aid, down from $37.08 to $29.66 at Walmart (opens in new tab)

LG is renowned for its smart technology – and this dishwasher makes full use of everything that the brand has to offer. The ThinQ technology means that not only can you remotely monitor your dishwasher's cleaning cycle with the accompanying ThinQ app, but your dishwasher will also send you notifications about its usage, maintenance and an early diagnosis of any potential problems too.

now $899.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

LG Top Control Smart Dishwasher | was $1,249.99, now $899.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)
LG's QuadWash technology provides maximum cleaning coverage making it easy to get your dishes clean. This dishwasher also features TrueStream technology, helping to reduce water spots by up to 60%. The Glide Rail with ball-bearing wheels provides a smoother lower rack for ease of access and effortless loading and unloading. If you need room to clean large pots, then you can adjust the height of the third rack - a feature that gives you the flexibility that you need when washing larger things.

We're also a huge fan of the 'LoDecibel' operation, which is a whisper-quiet 42 dBA, making it one of the quietest dishwashers available on the market. If you like to set your dishwasher running overnight, this is a great way to ensure you don't get unnecessarily disturbed throughout its cycle.

As we'd expect of any dishwasher at this particular price point, this appliance is ENERGY STAR rated, making it among the most energy-efficient dishwashers in its class. Other energy-saving features also include the Half Wash Mode, which is designed to save water and energy by washing only either the lower or upper rack – perfect for smaller households.

This is a great affordable dishwasher from Amana, via Best Buy – an especially good deal thanks to its ENERGY STAR rating! With a sleek design, 12-place setting capacity and a 'Heated Dry Option' that uses an internal heater to accelerate the drying process, what more could you want out of a dishwasher for just under $400?

now $399.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Amana Front Control Dishwasher | was $494.99, now $399.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)
If you want a dishwasher that won't get clogged with crumbs and food debris then this is a great deal for you. It has three wash filters which remove even the smallest food particles from the wash water, keeping the pipes clean and efficient. The Triple Wash System helps you to skip pre-rinse cycles so that you can spend less time scrubbing and more time on other things. It also features a slim, sleek console with access to multiple washing settings for different loads meaning you can go from cleaning glasses to heavily soiled pots at the press of a button.

Okay, we admit it – we have a bit of a weakness for top-control dishwashers. After all, if you can choose between having unsightly buttons on the front of your appliance, or having them tucked neatly away at the top of the door, who wouldn't prefer the sleek stylings of top-control?

However, this dishwasher isn't all looks (although the fingerprint resistant exterior means it'll stay smear-free) – an adjustable second rack, a Heated Dry option and a sensor cycle to automatically get the right wash and dry settings for each load makes this a great purchase all-round.

now $668.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Whirlpool Top Control Dishwasher | was $836.99, now $668.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)
If you want to wash large utensils alongside other dishes then you can do so with ease thanks to this dishwasher's third rack. Any hard-to-fit utensils can be placed neatly on the third rack, giving you plenty of space below for dishes and other things. It comes with a three–piece silverware basket and features a sensor cycle that will adjust as it washes, leaving your dishes spotless every time. It also has a fingerprint-resistant stainless steal finish so that the exterior stays shiny and clean from smudges.

Scoring a $300 discount on a Samsung dishwasher is nothing to sniff at, especially when it's got such a sleek and slick design. Standout features include a flexible third rack means that you can load additional utensils and silverware, a digital touch control panel on the front of the door and an AutoRelease door that opens at the end of the cycle to circulate air and improve drying performance.

now $599.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)

Samsung StormWash Top Control Dishwasher | was $899.99, now $599.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab)
This heavy-duty dishwasher has an elegant design and impressive cleaning power. Its rotating spray jets clean every angle for even the most tough-to-reach spots - and they do it almost silently. At only 48 dBA you can run this at any time throughout the day with minimal disturbance. It has 6 wash cycles, fit for cleaning anything from glasses and plates to heavily soiled pots. It is also ideal for washing plastic and silicone as its hidden heating element will sanitize them without causing any damage.

A dual spray arm is so passé – what you really need for an effective clean is a four-pronged spray arm, just like the QuadWash system in this dishwasher from LG. Other great features include a 10-year Direct Drive Motor warranty for ultimate peace of mind and a convenient front-control design to help you easily preview and select the settings you need.

now $499.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)

LG QuadWash Front Control Dishwasher | was $829.00, now $499.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)
This Dishwasher will efficiently and quickly clean your dishes - great if you are in a hurry. Its QuadWash technology will power clean your dishes from multiple angles for a spotless clean, and its two-stage fan system will dry your dishes so that they are ready to be stored instantly. It also has a number of different cycles, including a quick wash cycle for when you are short on time.

Okay, this might not have a quad-pronged spray arm (see previous post), but it does have a triple spray arm system – and is $100 cheaper than the LG QuadWash too! Meanwhile, it can clean 14 place settings in one cycle and can be scheduled to run four hours in advance. We're also a big fan of the door's ability to stay put at whatever angle you open it – not a particularly sexy feature, but it's still undeniably useful.

now $399 at Lowes (opens in new tab)

Frigidaire Front Control Dishwasher | was $559, now $399 at Lowes (opens in new tab)
This ENERGY STAR-certified dishwasher is good if you are looking for a dishwasher on a budget - and with this deal, it is cheaper than ever. With a triple spray system to help give your dishes a thorough clean, and a heating element to help dry your dishes after cleaning, this dishwasher boasts a lot of helpful tools so that you can clean even the most soiled pots.

This Frigidaire dishwasher also features a self-cleaning filter that eliminates food particles to keep your dishes and the components of the dishwasher spotless. Meanwhile, there are multiple cleaning options, including a super-useful heavy wash that's designed for dishes that are caked in food, eliminating the need for a pre-soak.

If you are investing in one of our great dishwasher deals, you'll want to make sure you don't abuse your new machine by putting the wrong things in it. Here are four things you should NEVER put in a dishwasher...

1. Wooden chopping boards
Very hot water can warp or even crack your boards. So while it's very tempting to put them in with the dishes, don't. It might also strip away the wood's naturally antibacterial finish.

2. Cook's knives
Any sharp blade could be dulled by a run in the dishwasher. Don't subject your expensive knives to any intense washes. Far better to clean them by hand with soap and water.

3. Anything hand-painted
If the kids have painted 'Mom's mug', keep it well away from the dishwasher. Over time the paint will fade and you'll lose their cherished artwork.

4. Non-stick and cast-iron pans
Unless the manufacturer's instructions specifically tell you you can, do not put anything with a non-stick coating in the dishwasher. Regular dishwashing will erode the surface – it could even peel off into your food while you're cooking. That's an extra ingredient no one wants on their plate.

This is the cheapest deal on a dishwasher that we've featured on this live blog so far! Any appliance under $350 is a steal, but this Hotpoint dishwasher is not only American-made, but it also has handy features including a Water Leak Sensor and heavy duty wash cycles.

If you're interested in this deal, I wouldn't wait too long – as it's currently showing as low in stock at Lowes.

now $329.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)

Hotpoint Front Control Dishwasher | was $410.00, now $329.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)
For the price (especially with this great deal) this washing machine boasts a plethora of features. With a complete wash and dry cycle, you will always be removing dry, spotless dishes from your machine. It also has a water leak sensor - the Active Flood Protect technology will prevent potential overflows for greater peace of mind; the sensor detects when the water is too high and the machine pumps it out until a safe level is reached. It features a Pirhana Hard Food Disposer that will pulverize any food debris, eliminating the need for pre-rinsing.

We always love a dishwasher with the option to have three racks, as that third one can be a great place to put awkwardly–small items, such as utensils, cutlery and lids. They tend to be found in more expensive dishwashers, but this GE appliance is a fairly decent price – especially after the $230 discount.

now $599.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)

GE Dry Boost Dishwasher | was $829.00, now $599.00 at Lowes (opens in new tab)
This three-rack dishwasher is great for big families that have a lot of dishes to clean. It utilizes bottle jets to ensure you get a deep clean for tall items such as champagne flutes and jars. It uses Dry Boost technology to get hard-to-dry items like plastics and silicone 3x drier compared to heat drying. It also offers many different cycles to meet your needs, effortlessly cleaning anything that you put inside it. On top of all of these cleaning features, it also has a fingerprint resistant stainless steel exterior.

This dishwasher also features our favorite design quirk – the top control panel that's hidden away at the top of the dishwasher door. This sleek design is complemented by a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish, making it a lovely addition to any kitchen.

And now for something a little different – a countertop dishwasher can be an excellent purchase for anyone who doesn't have enough space for a full-sized dishwasher. While you obviously won't be able to fit in quite as many cups, plates and cutlery as an ordinary appliance, it's a great way to lessen the amount of washing up you have to do the next time you cook up a storm in the kitchen.

now $249.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)

KARLXTOM Portable Countertop Dishwasher | was $299.99, now $249.99 at Walmart (opens in new tab)
If you are in need of a compact, portable dishwasher for your small kitchen or if you live alone and don't need a large dishwasher then this deal is great. The KARLXTOM Portable Dishwasher contains a 5L built-in water tank. It is only 16.9 x 16.8 x 18.1 inches but can fit an impressive amount of dishes. It has 5 programs for different washing needs and a steam cleaning option for sterilizing heavily soiled dishes. It is also a great dishwasher for RVs, boats, campers and cabins.

This dishwasher from Maytag features ENERGY STAR certification, which means that it uses less energy than the majority of dishwashers and will help save you money on your utility bills. Meanwhile, a 10-year limited parts warranty on the racks, chopper blade and stainless steel tub means that you should be able to rely on this dishwasher for years to come. Perfect for the sustainably-minded consumer!

now $628 at Home Depot (opens in new tab)

Maytag Front Control Dishwasher | was $879, now $628 at Home Depot (opens in new tab)
If you are not a fan of pre-rinsing and scrubbing dishes then this dishwasher has you covered. Maytag has implemented a dual filtration system that will remove any food debris from the wastewater so that you don't have to worry about the components getting damaged or smelling bad. It has a full stainless steel tub that won't tarnish, meaning this dishwasher is truly built to last. It is also very quiet at only 50 dBA. The exterior is fingerprint resistant and incredibly easy to clean with a wet cloth.

Dishwasher Black Friday deals

1. Cutlery
If your dishwasher comes with a cutlery basket as opposed to a tray, then always load forks and spoons (and, for that matter, sporks) with the handles facing down. The exception are knives, which for safety's sake should always go in with the handles facing up so they are easy to retrieve. In each compartment, include a mix of knives, forks and spoons, rather than grouping them together. 'Spooning' spoons just won't get as clean.

2. Pots and pans
Should always go in the bottom basket where they'll be hit with the full power of your dishwasher. Also, while you should scrape off any chunks of food, don't pre-rinse them. Detergent like a bit of grime to cling to as it works more effectively.

3. Glassware
Extra care is needed here. Always wash glasses in the top rack, away from the powerful spray arms. Load each glass at an angle so water doesn't collect in its concave base. Detergent manufacturer Cascade says (opens in new tab): "try stacking glasses between the top rack’s tines, not
