The Viper Value 2-Way Remote Start System offers a variety of features, including engine start via your smartphone. The Viper features a two-way remote starter and has a range of 2,000 feet, so you can start your car remotely from a reasonable distance. This is a useful feature when you want to moderate the temperature of the vehicle from the comfort of your home or office. The Viper automatic car starter is small and compact. This is advantageous as it slips neatly into a pocket or bag, but it can be an issue as the small remote could be easy to lose, drop or misplace.

This model lacks an LCD display, so doesn't provide text alerts or visual status reports. It does, however, feature an LED that flashes when you operate the remote to indicate successful task completion. The parking lights also flash when the vehicle receives a command from the remote. While you can operate the remote starter from the controller, you can also download an app to your smartphone and operate the device using you phone's touchscreen. This is useful for fast access and in the event that you misplace the remote.

The Viper Value 2-Way Remote Start System also offers keyless entry, increasing versatility; however, this feature only works while the engine is running. While this model is compatible with a failsafe starter kill, this feature is an optional extra that increases your outlay. It does have a virtual tachometer connection, rather than a wired connection, providing accurate speed sensing with minimal delay. The presence of a hood safety switch prevents the car starter from engaging the engine while the hood is open.

This remote car starter is easy to use with just a single button, although this can cause confusion when trying to perform different actions. You can program the remote to work with two cars. If you're in a hurry or want to keep your engine warm for a short period, you can activate pit-stop mode, which allows you to leave the engine running for a set period without the key in the ignition, providing you leave your vehicle in a well-ventilated area.

This midrange remote starter provides plenty of basic features and some safety options. However, some options, such as the failsafe start kill, are not included, so if you need these, they are available for an additional cost. The small remotes, smartphone control and the ability to control two cars with a single remote increases its versatility.
