Vornado VH10 Vortex Heater: Features

  • Uses a specially-tuned airflow system
  • Heats a space by circulating the heat around the floor and walls
Vornado VH10 Vortex Heater Specs

Weight: 5lbs
Tip-over safety switch:
Remote control:
5 years

The VH10 is one of Vornado's next generation models of whole room heaters. It uses a specially-tuned airflow system known as 'Vortex Action', meaning that the VH10 creates a twisting current of air that flows fast, warm and gently throughout the room. It heats a space by circulating the heat around the floor and walls.

The Vornado VH10 Vortex is equipped with easy-to-use controls for adjusting the thermostat and it’s got two heat settings to regulate the power consumption. That’s low at 750W and high at 1500W.

This particular model also features hidden cord storage to safely store excess cord on the bottom of heater, so there’s no chance of you tripping over it or getting it tangled around the heater itself.

What’s more, the heater remains cool to the touch, even after hours use, so it’s extremely safe. Another good feature on the VH10 is the automatic shut-off system which does exactly what it says – shuts the unit off automatically if excess heat is detected or if the unit is tipped over.

Vornado VH10 Vortex Heater: Design

  • Compact heater that will sit in any room without sticking out
  • Integrated handle to make it easy to move from room to room

It’s a nice-looking, compact heater that will sit in any room without sticking out like a sore thumb. The grate on the front is so tight that even the tiniest fingers can't get anywhere near the fan blade, so that’s a real plus on the safety side of things.

It also has an integrated handle to make it easy to move from room to room, should you so desire.

Vornado VH10 Vortex Heater: Performance

  • Creates a twisting current of air
  • Backed by a 5-year satisfaction guarantee

Using specially tuned airflow called 'Vortex Action', the VH10 creates a twisting current of air that flows fast, warm and gentle - circulating the heat throughout the entire room using walls and ceilings as pathways.

The VH10 can easily pay for itself pretty quickly as it allows you to heat the room you’re in and turn down the thermostat in the rest of the house. Your overall heating costs should reduce dramatically with one of these on the go. The VH10 is backed by a 5-year satisfaction guarantee so if something does go wrong, you’re covered by its extended warranty.

Vornado VH10 Vortex Heater: User reviews

  • Design protects small fingers
  • If knocked over, will automatically shut off

Users liked the fact that the grate on the front of the heater is designed to prevent even the tiniest of fingers reaching inside. Also, the outer casing of the heater doesn’t get hot, so it’s safe to have around children and pets.

The Vornado VH10 is hard to knock off balance, too. If this does happen, it will automatically shut off so that’s another bonus point for a heater you want to use around children and boisterous pets.

Some users report that they’re not that keen on the fact that the fan only spins at one speed, and that it can get a little noisy. The fan speed doesn’t change along with the setting, so if the temperature is set to low, the fan runs at the same speed as when it’s set to high. For that reason it’s deemed a little too noisy by some users to run the fan in a bedroom while trying to sleep.

Oddly, other users say it’s very quiet, so it probably depends on what kind of noise levels you’re used to and what room you want to use it in, and for how long.

On performance, users are very happy with the output of the Vornado VH10, citing its rapid heating as the feature they’re most pleased with.

If you want a safe, fast-heating model to effectively take the chill off a room, yes.
