Pros / It is the most affordable unit we reviewed.
Cons / It lacks any advanced features.
Verdict / The VTech CS6719-2 has decent battery performance and call quality but is missing many advanced features such as Bluetooth connectivity.
The VTech CS6719-2 is a basic cordless phone set that’s fine with being mediocre. And that’s OK. Not everyone wants or needs the latest in cordless home phone technology with features like Bluetooth connectivity to link your smartphone or headset to this home unit.
The CS6719-2’s battery life isn’t great, coming in at just barely seven hours. This falls well below the average of landline phones we reviewed, of about 12 hours, though some units boast anywhere from 36 to 48 hours per charge. However, since you can add up to five additional cordless phones, you can simply swap out another handset while waiting for one to recharge.
The standard version of this phone ships with two handsets, which is average for this category, and a great deal considering this unit’s low price. Any additional handsets you want must be purchased separately. You can also have a three-way conference call between an outside phone and two of the handsets.
If you do opt for more handsets, you can make use of the CS6719-2’s intercom ability. This makes it easy to communicate with other people in your house without having to yell or interrupt whatever you’re currently working on. The base does not have a speakerphone, however, which means you have to rely on the handsets. This isn’t ideal, as handset speakerphones generally aren’t as good as those you find in cordless phone bases.
There is only enough room to store 50 contacts in this phone’s memory. That’s not horrible, but some other units we reviewed can offer as many as 100 or 200. The caller ID also has room for 50 entries, which is on par with the best cordless phones we evaluated. Its handy speed dial function allows you to program in some of your most commonly dialed numbers, to help save you time.
This cordless phone comes with a one-year warranty, which is standard for the industry. That should be enough time for you to notice any factory defects. Should you need to contact VTech directly, you can do so through live chat, phone or email. The company also hosts a FAQs section and other informational resources on its website.

The VTech CS6719-2 is not the best home phone on the market, which is to be expected at its low price point. However, it has most of the basics, and its caller ID log holds as much as the best units. While it lacks many of the advanced features found in top-of-the-line landline phones, it covers the basics well.
