PROS / The IntelliDeck tool is a unique feature if a new deck is on your list of projects.

CONS / With few templates, you have to design your landscapes piece-by-piece.

VERDICT / If you don't mind building your own layouts, this product works well for designing a home and backyard simultaneously.

With tools for designing both a house and yard, TurboFloorPlan 3D Home and Landscape Pro can help you get just what you want in your future home, inside and out. This landscape design platform comes with few templates, but it makes building a deck a breeze. It can also help you visualize your plants now and for many years into the future with its growth tool.

The easiest way to start making your home landscaping ideas a reality is right outside your virtual doorway. This home landscape design software has deck templates that can be dragged, dropped and edited until they are perfect. The IntelliDeck feature automatically follows the shape of your house so you can quickly position a deck that flows naturally from your doorways.

One timesaving feature is the Visual Array Tool, which allows you to add plants along a set path and you decide the spacing. You can see how your greenery will look years from now with the TurboFloorPlan 3D Home and Landscape Pro growth tool. Knowing where trees will someday cast shadows is helpful for planning.

Many programs only offer home design or landscaping design, but TurboFloorPlan does both. The front yard and backyard designs that you can craft with this software look realistic because you can design in a 2D or 3D environment. You can get a feel for your final design by using a 3D walkthrough tour.

There are not many yard templates or samples with this lawn design software aside from the detailed deck tools. A lack of templates will not matter for every project though. You can always make your outdoor layouts piece-by-piece, but sometimes a template is nice to get your ideas flowing.

One thing that will matter for most landscape projects is the lack of undo and re-do buttons. We prefer the platforms that make those buttons easy to find and let you undo and re-do as many changes as you like. That is not the set-up with TurboFloorPlan 3D Home and Landscape Pro.

The website could be more informative as there is no FAQs page for those basic questions. For overall customer support, you can call or email, though, and this is also one of the few developers that keeps a live chat tool available during business hours.

Other products outshine TurboFloorPlan 3D Home and Landscape Pro in terms of template selection. However, it's a good option overall, especially if you want to plan your home and landscape at the same time.
