Whether you’re a budding PC gamer or a professional in need of a new desktop computer for your home office, there is something for you here in the best Black Friday computer deals. We’ve seen offers on gaming rigs from huge brands like Alienware, along with massive savings on a range of all-rounder computers which are ideal for work. There are also savings to be made on budget computers too, making the cheap options even cheaper.

But what should you be looking out for when it comes to Black Friday computer deals? Well, that depends on what you need your computer for. If you want a new gaming rig then you need something with a powerful GPU and an SSD to run your games from. Creative types who need to edit photos and videos will benefit from a powerful CPU. If you need something to take with you on the go, there are also the best laptops to look at.

Most people want a home computer that can do a little bit of everything though, so we’d recommend that you look for a solid all-rounder which has a decent mid-range CPU, a dedicated GPU, at least 8GB RAM (and we’d really say 16GB here), and an SSD for running your system from. You can then look at adding things like a storage drive for photo/video storage later if needs be.

If you’re looking for more than just a new computer this Black Friday, head over to our best Black Friday USA deals round up for deals on everything from refrigerators to printers.

When is Black Friday this year?

Black Friday takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving every year, which is November 27 this year. It’s the biggest shopping event of the year with just about everything you can think of going on sale - we’re talking everything from cell phone plan deals to washing machine deals. It’s not just for one day either, as Black Friday offers start in the week leading up to the big day itself, and last until Cyber Monday (the Monday after).

Best Black Friday computer deals 2020: What to expect

When the sales do begin, we’re expecting to see huge discounts on a range of products from all the major manufacturers including Dell, Alienware, Apple, and Lenovo.

Which deals you should be looking for depends on what kind of home computer you want, and what you want to use it for? If you’re a designer or creator, then you should keep an eye out for deals on the Apple iMac, especially the previous model - we’d expect to see decent discounts on the Apple iMac 2019 this year for sure, with retailers looking to clear stock for this year’s model. During last year’s Black Friday sales, the 27” iMac with 8GB RAM and 1TB storage was down to $1600 - a saving of $200 off the MSRP.

If you’re looking for more of an all rounder in the Black Friday home computer sales, then we’d recommend the Dell XPS 8940. It’s the quintessential desktop tower PC, with a simple professional design and plenty of hardware customization options.

And for the gamers out there, we’re expecting to see some pretty hefty discounts on Alienware home computers if last year’s sales are anything to go by. Last year it was offering $330 off on several of it’s gaming desktops including the Alienware Aurora.

Black Friday Computer Deals: What to look out for?

Black Friday is a huge shopping event for sure, but one of the underlying reasons for its existence is that it lets stores and retailers clear out their inventory of older stock. This is especially true when it comes to technology like home computers as they’re constantly being upgraded and replaced by new models.

What we’re saying is that if you’re OK buying last year’s model, you’ll be able to make some huge savings and still pick up some fantastic hardware, but you’re unlikely to see amazing deals on recently released models.

Honestly though, you’re missing out on very little these days by getting last years showroom pieces - the advance of computer technology has slowed down considerably in recent years and the difference between newer models and last years version isn’t going to be enormous and we’d argue that only serious gamers and those working in video editing are the only ones who should consider sitting on the cutting edge of progress.

The best pre-Black Friday computer deals to shop now
