The Electrolux EI32AF80QS frost-free upright freezer with IQ-Touch controls is one of the best looking units we've seen. The tall freestanding freezer is made with a stainless steel finish to really make it stand out. But it's more than just a good looking cool box.

This freezer is crammed with features and plenty of storage capacity too. Expect easy organization of your frozen food as well as simple interactions using the touch control system.

Some great features include an automatic ice maker, multiple glass shelves, LED lighting, four adjustable door bins and dedicated ice cream storage areas. All that is encased in a high-quality build which promises to keep going and going.

This is a stunning freezer but it doesn't come cheap. So read on to find out if it's worth the price tag.

Electrolux EI32AF80QS freezer: Design and build

  • Stainless steel
  • Framed door finish
  • 18.58 cubic feet

There's no denying the looks of this freezer, it's gorgeous. The sleek stainless steel finish is fantastic and is especially well used with that framed door finish. The door itself has a rounded handle for comfortable and easy opening and closing.

The only potential downside on the materials front is that this freezer isn't magnetic, so the kids' artwork will need to go somewhere else. Of course fans of clean minimalist design will be pleased about this as it means the unit will remain a stand out feature in the home.

The space inside the freezer is plentiful with 18.58 cubic feet of capacity. This is well organized with 25-inch full-width glass shelves, drawers and tilt-out door shelves. The Electrolux trademark luxury-glide baskets are a great addition for keeping items easily accessible.

Electrolux EI32AF80QS freezer: Features

  • Ice maker built in
  • IQ-Touch controls
  • LED lighting
  • Alarm system
  • Air Filter

As you can see from the bullet points, this freezer has a lot of features. That ice-maker being built-in is really helpful as it works automatically meaning you can get ice right there whenever you need it. Controls for cooling are in the top with a digital display making it easy to use, presuming you're tall enough to reach the top easily, of course.

Everything is LED lit for power efficient bright lighting that's spread evenly across the inside of the freezer. Should you leave the door open, or suffer a power cut, the unit has an alarm to let you know. Smart.

We love the fact this also has its own air filtration system. The result is clean air in the freezer so you don't get met by any nasty smells when you open the door.

Electrolux EI32AF80QS freezer: Performance

  • Quiet running
  • Super easy access
  • Scent free

Despite being a large unit, Electrolux has made sure this runs efficiently and by that we mean quietly. As such you won't even notice this is running. And you won't smell it either thanks to that filter which does make a difference when you open the door and feel cool and fresh.

The full-width drawers are easy to slide in and out plus they're just the right depth to see everything easily, so you don't have to go diving around for what you need. The door storage is a favorite as it has a dedicated "soft serve" section for storing ice cream at a slightly less cold temperature so it is ready to eat sooner after you take it out.

The shelves are adjustable which is useful if you have larger items to store and want to reorganise to fit them at full size. The tilt-out door bins are a really nice way to get lots into the space and still have easy access quickly. That means you can open the soft serve section and slide out the ice cream easily without the usual knocking and tilting to try and work it out of a tight space.

Should I buy the Electrolux EI32AF80QS freezer?

If you want a really good looking stand alone freezer that offers plenty of storage space in a well organized and easily accessible upright form, then the Electrolux EI32AF80QS is ideal for you. If you're looking for a more compact appliance altogether, you should take a look at the best side-by-side refrigerators, which have a freezer compartment built-in.

If you want to save a bit of money you could go for a cheaper upright, such as the GE FUF14DLRWW or save even more and go for a chest freezer, like the Whirlpool WZC3122DW that can live in the garage. There isn't an Energy Star rating on this unit so you could save more money in the longer term by getting a more power efficient freezer too.

Electrolux EI32AF80QS freezer: Verdict

The Electrolux EI32AF80QS is a great looking upright frost-free freezer with top features like an ice maker, dedicated soft serve ice cream section and those Electrolux Luxury-Glide full width storage bins.

A three-year limited warranty is another great feature that helps give you peace of mind that you're getting your money's worth with this freezer.
