The General Electric FUF14DHRWW is an upright freezer that will free up space in your existing freezer and store the foods your family loves to eat. This freezer has a lower capacity than many in our guide with just 13.8 cubic feet of space. Nonetheless, it makes the most of its internal space with pullout baskets that are great for storing bulky items like turkeys and hams, preventing them from falling out of the freezer when you open the door. The wide-swinging doors make it easy to access your food. It is smaller than other freezers in our lineup, but it still has substantial depth. This compact freezer is well suited for individuals or small families. If you feel you need more space, take a look at the Whirlpool freezer.
This GE upright freezer features adjustable shelving and multiple door bins that, while compact, hold an impressive volume of food. This adjustability lets you arrange the interior to suit your storage needs and preferences. The freezer has incandescent lighting, which is softer but less energy-efficient than LED lighting. There is also a power-on indicator by the bottom grille to let you know the freezer is running. You will know there is a problem if the light isn’t on.
This freezer has controls on the inside, toward the bottom of the unit. External temperature controls are preferable, because cold air won't escape from the freezer while you adjust the setting. You may have to get on your knees to reach the temperature dial. The lack of a reversible door, which would allow you to open it on the right or the left, limits the freezer's versatility when it comes to placing it in a convenient location in a garage, basement or other space.
This standing freezer has frost-free and automatic defrost capabilities, so you don't have to go to the trouble of emptying it and temporarily relocating the contents while you defrost and clean it. It costs approximately $52 per year to run, which is about average for this type of freezer. The standard warranty lasts for one year, but extended service plans are available at an additional cost.
This GE upright freezer has a comparatively small capacity, so it's best suited for smaller families as well as homes where space is at a premium. Its adjustable shelving and door bins let you make the most of the internal space. The GE FUF14DHRWW is budget friendly and offers energy-efficient frozen food storage that isn't packed with extras but makes good use of its space.
