The Electrolux EI30GS55JS is a versatile and feature-rich gas range for cooking, but along with that, it also provides you with an abundance of features that make it easy to keep a clean oven and stovetop. The deep-well design on the cooktop keeps anything that spills from spreading so you can wipe them up easily. The range is equipped with four sealed burners so any messes don't trickle below the stovetop and end up getting baked on in a sticky, hardened mess. You also get a three-stage set of self-cleaning oven cycles – light, medium and heavy – so you can adjust the cleaning mode to suit the state of the oven.
The Electrolux EI30GS55JS gas stove gives you a selection of four stovetop burners with an exceptional range of heat levels. With this cooktop, the primary burner is positioned in the right front of the appliance and outputs 16,000 Btu of heat, which can rapidly boil a big pot of water for a spaghetti dinner or a lobster feast.
The second most powerful burner for this gas stove is found on the left rear and produces 14,000 Btu of heat. The left front burner has a 9,500 Btu rating, and the right rear burner is a useful 5,000 Btu that can go as low as 500 Btu to carefully melt delicate items like butter or chocolate. A griddle doesn’t come with this gas range, although you can buy one separately. The reversible griddle/grill works best on the left grate of the stovetop, and you can use the flat side for pancakes and eggs, while the ridged side works well for meat. You do get a porcelain broiler pan when you buy this range.
The cooktop grates aren’t raised above countertop level, making it easy to move heavy pots between the cooktop and countertop. The cast iron grates extend entirely across the stove top, and these are continuous, which means you can move pans from one burner to the next without lifting. The Electrolux EI30GS55JS gives you four burners, but if you need more – and especially a griddle – the Kenmore 75232 provides five. One of these is a central heating area that can accommodate a griddle or big roasting pan.
The oven is a relatively small 4.2 cubic feet. This is a convection oven that comes with three oven racks, one of which functions on a gliding device with ball bearings so you can add or remove heavy dishes easily. The oven includes a delay start function, a rapid preheat mode and a fast preheat feature.
While the oven doesn’t have a steam self-cleaning option, there are options for light, medium or heavy heat cleanings. For safety’s sake, the oven has a control lock so curious children cannot accidentally turn it on. If you keep a kosher kitchen, you’ll no doubt appreciate the Sabbath mode on this gas stove, which helps keep food nicely warmed. You also get a handy warming drawer that glides out on ball bearings that you can use to keep foods waiting without drying out, and the oven itself also offers a warm mode.
Electrolux warranties parts and labor for one year, and if you register it, you get an additional two years on the parts warranty. If you have questions, you can contact customer service by phone or email, or ask a representative via online chat. You can also get product and warranty details, and an online manual, on the Electrolux website.
If you’re in the market for easy cleaning, ample cooktop features and a good-quality oven, the Electrolux EI30GS55JS might be the best gas range for you.
