Kenmore’s 75232 features a good mix of burners, excellent oven temperatures and a warming drawer. You can choose either a black or white porcelain-coated steel finish. While this material is easy to clean, the design is a bit bland and a little dated.

The 75232 has an impressive 18,200 Btu primary burner. The other burners output 14,200 Btu, 10,000 Btu, 9,500 Btu and 5,000 Btu of heat. The oval burner can accommodate roasting pans, griddles and oversize pans, while the simmering burner is ideal for chocolate and sauces. However, this gas range doesn’t include an integrated griddle. The gently-recessed cooktop and sealed burners keep spills on the cooktop surface for easy cleaning. In addition, the full-coverage grates are dishwasher safe, but the burner caps need to be wiped clean by hand.

The 5.6-cubic-foot convection oven is average in size. The broiler has a respectable heat output of 13,500 Btu, allowing for high temperatures in the 400 to 550 degree range. The oven reaches temperatures of up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit but can go as low as 170 degrees. These low temperatures are useful for melting, warming and raising dough. However, the oven doesn’t have a proofing mode, which can produce much lower temperatures that don’t dry out and prematurely bake doughs. The oven has six rack positions and three included porcelain-coated racks.

As with most ovens, the self-cleaning mode uses high temperatures to reduce food remnants to ash, and you can run it for a two-, three- or four-hour cycle. The oven also has a timed shutoff, delayed start and Sabbath mode, and you can prevent kids from turning it on with a child lock. The warmer drawer keeps food warm if you’re serving multiple courses or if your food is ready early. The drawer keeps food at 195 degrees.

Kenmore offers the typical warranty for gas ranges; parts and labor are covered for one year. Warranty issues are handled by a call center that schedules repairs. Kenmore’s customer service representatives are easy to contact by phone or email, and the owner manual and warranty information are available on Kenmore’s website.

If you’re looking for a gas range with a decent temperature selection on the cooktop and in the oven, the Kenmore 75232 is a good option. The warming drawer is a big plus and adds to the range’s versatility. While the design is very traditional, there’s a lot to work with if you’re a serious cook. The Kenmore 75232 is a budget-friendly gas range, but if you need a good gas range that is even more economical, the Amana AGR6603SFS is a good choice for a basic gas range.
