WORX WG896 lawn edger: Features

This electric edger uses a 12-amp motor to cut through tough overgrowth or terrain. This power provides professional, crisp edges along sidewalks, curbs and driveway. The motor drives a 7.5-inch blade that you can adjust to one of three different cutting positions, with a maximum cutting depth of 1.5 inches. The edger also includes a cutting line indicator so you know where the blade is as you cut an edge.

This lawn edger has two rear wheels and one front wheel, which provides stability. You can guide the machine forward steadily on its wheels without worrying about cutting too deep. Additionally, the tool has an extendable shaft. You can adjust the edger to your height so it's comfortable for you to use. The secondary handle pivots, adding another layer of comfort and usability.

This electric edger is corded, so you are tethered to an outlet while you edge your yard. This makes the tool best for small yards, as you can't use it too far away from the house. However, the edger does include an electrical cord lock, so you don't have to worry about disconnecting the cord with every few steps. Because it doesn't have a heavy engine like gas edgers, the WORX WG896 weighs just under 14 pounds. This makes the edger easy to handle and maneuver, allowing you to make precise, controlled cuts.

This WORX edger has a three-year warranty that protects you against manufacturer defects due to material or workmanship. This warranty does not protect you from intentional or accidental damage cause by misuse, abuse, alterations and so on.

WORX WG896 lawn edger: User reviews

User reviews for the WORX WG896 lawn edger are wholly quite positive. Many mention that this lawn edger is powerful and did a great job of edging their lawn. A few criticisms of the model were that the short cord was a pain and it's very time consuming to get used to the edger the first time you use it. Once users got the hang of it though, this machine seemed to work well.

Should you buy the WORX WG896 lawn edger?

The WORX WG896 is a powerful electric edger that is incredibly easy to handle thanks its lightweight design and three guide wheels. This edger has a pivoting secondary handle and an extendable shaft, which makes it comfortable and easy to use, regardless of your height. Because the edger requires an electrical outlet, it is best suited for small yards in which all areas that need edging can be reached with an extension cord.
