Vonage is a popular name in calling services and provides options for both residential calling plans and international phone plans. This well-known service provides plans designed for small business owners and has unlimited world plans available for low, affordable rates.

This company offers nine plans that work well for small business owners. While not all of them are geared specifically toward international calling, they all come equipped with some of the top features we were looking for. There are a couple plans dedicated to calling Mexico, so if most of your business interactions are with this country, this plan could be a good fit for you. Another option is a plan geared specifically for calling the Philippines. Vonage offers more variety in pre-made plans than any other service we reviewed.

The world plans provided by Vonage are Vonage World and Vonage World Plus. Both plans allow you to make unlimited calling to 60 countries. This means you can call these areas as much as you want without having to worry about incurring international calling rates. You are also allotted unlimited calling to mobile devices in 10 countries. The World Plus plan is a slight upgrade from the World Plan and includes an additional 250 mobile calling minutes that can be used to call 40 different countries.

Setting up the Vonage adapter was a smooth and easy process. In just a few minutes, we were able to place both local and international calls. Unfortunately, when we tested the international calling service, the call quality was very low. The clarity was very low and frequently it was hard to make out words on both ends of the phone call, even when we called to locations that would not be considered remote. Phone Power and Broadvoice both had superior call quality.

User features that Vonage provides include a mobile app and advanced business features, like call transfer and conference calling.

Help and support options provided by Vonage include email and phone support. We found representatives to be knowledgeable and responsive. This service does not provide live chat though, meaning there is lag time for any question that you need answered. Vonage also provides a FAQs and blog. The FAQs are not searchable though, so finding answers can be time consuming.

Overall, Vonage provides a variety of useful call features but fell below the mark when it came to call quality.
