The Aroma 12-Cup Sensor Logic rice cooker is an affordable electric rice cooker that offers digital controls and fuzzy logic programming. The model is more capable than other small rice cookers on the market, and the unique sauté-then-simmer feature is only offered with the Aroma brand. It’s a versatile rice cooker that costs significantly less than comparable fuzzy logic models.

Aroma's 12-Cup Sensor Logic is a stainless steel rice cooker that boasts a modern, egg-shaped design. It can hold up to 6 cups of uncooked rice and yields 12 cups of cooked rice. The control panel in the front offers a digital display and easy-to-understand functions. It also has a picnic-style handle, making it easy for you to bring with you wherever you need evenly cooked rice. The Aroma 12-Cup Sensor Logic has separate settings for white rice, brown rice, steaming, slow cooking, oatmeal, soup and cakes. It also offers a delayed timer so you can set it up to 15 hours in advance.

Aroma’s Sensor Logic technology is similar to the fuzzy logic offered by other brands. The rice cooker is able to make changes to heating time based on outside temperature, elevation and even measurement errors. The taste of the cooked rice is consistent from the bottom of the pot to the top, and the settings allow you to be selective with the grain. Just about the only setting it lacks is the ability to let you choose the texture you'd like.

Many rice cookers on the market throw in a steamer basket as an afterthought, but this machine takes this feature seriously. The white basket is a good size and can be used with Aroma’s sauté-then-simmer function, which creates a high heat for browning food and switches automatically to simmer once you add liquid. The model also comes with a clear plastic measuring cup and serving spoon. The detachable power cable is a nice addition that isn’t offered with other models in the same price range.

The Aroma 12-Cup Sensor Logic Rice Cooker is a step above basic rice makers and offers you an affordable introduction to fuzzy logic technology. The easy-to-clean, stainless steel design is appealing, and the sauté-then-simmer function is a solid feature that makes the model more useful in the kitchen than other rice cookers.
