Pros / Beautifully designed, this oven will likely steal the spotlight from any other large appliance in your home.

Cons / This electric range lacks a timed bake shut off, a useful feature if you leave leftovers to warm in the oven or want to bake food while you're away.

Verdict / The touch only control panel, beautiful blue interior and sleek cooktop make this LG the beauty pageant winner in our lineup. However, it does lack some convenient features.

The LG LRE3083 seems to come from an old science fiction novel. Its control panel is fully touch automated and comes in three sleek finishes to compliment the smooth black ceramic stovetop. When you look at the oven attached to this electric range, it's hard not to notice the gorgeous cobalt blue interior. The LG LRE3083 has the looks, features and capacity to run with the best electric ranges on the market.

Stovetop Features

There are five burners on the ceramic cooktop, including one expandable burner that grows from 6 to 9 inches, two 6-inch elements, one 7-inch and one 9-inch element; the expandable element can produce up to 3,000 watts of power. While there's no power boil element designated on the stove, this is enough power to boil water faster than most electric ranges.

Price

Of the electric ranges in our lineup, this LG model has the most powerful broiler element and largest capacity oven. It can hold up to 6.3 cubic feet and broil food with a wattage of 4,200. Its baking element also packs a serious punch with 3,400 watts of electricity to power it.

This LG model uses a specialized enamel to make cleaning easy. Instead of reducing messes to ash with high temperatures, you only need to spray the coating with water and press the clean cycle button. After 20 minutes, the low heat and water loosen the soils in the oven. All you have to do is wipe them up. That is incredibly fast, especially compared to most of the other ones in our comparison. Most of them take at least 40 minutes to clean and some take 180 minutes for a self-cleaning minimum time.

Conveniences

This is the only electric range with only touch pad controls. This makes the backsplash far easier to clean and adds to this range's sharp look. Even for its modern look, it's missing a couple standard features like an auto shutoff. This means you have to pay close attention to turn off the oven yourself. This is not one of the ovens that offers pre-programmed settings for things like pizza and chicken fingers. That is not generally a deal-breaker but can be a nice extra. One oven that has convenience settings for pizza and chicken nuggets is the Samsung NE595R0A.

Dimensions & Warranty

With proper care and maintenance, the warranty on this electric range lasts for one year. When you have questions, the LG website has several ways to help you. The help library has product-specific information for this and other LG ranges, and you can also contact an LG representative by phone, email or live chat on the website. This is one of the manufacturers that actually staffs their live chat, too, so you get a real person during normal hours, and fast.

Summary

If you're remodeling, the LG LRE308 can easily become the centerpiece of your kitchen because of its gorgeous interior, touch control backsplash and sleek cooktop. The broiler wattage and oven capacity in this LG model top all its competitors in size and wattage. However, it is missing some standard features such as a timed shut off.
