Pros / TouchSuite is especially suitable for those in the salon or spa industry. It also offers restaurant versions and liquor monitoring. Low-cost leasing options are available, even for those who have marginal credit.
Cons / The term agreements are rather long for the lease and value options, at four and five years respectively. However, the cloud-based salon version is month-to-month, provided you supply your own hardware.
Verdict / This point-of-sale company offers solutions suitable to salons and restaurants for those who require a competent POS system with minimal startup costs.

TouchSuite offers affordable POS systems for lease or purchase. Leased options cost less upfront but require a process agreement; this is a good option if you are looking for POS hardware, software and a payment processor. TouchSuite point-of-sale systems are especially suitable for small businesses that need the software to do more than just one thing. These POS systems can manage employee schedules, data backup, marketing distribution lists, reservations and reports.
As with most payment processing agreements, rates vary. You will need to negotiate your rates with TouchSuite before you sign up. Published sample rates we found are 1.49 percent to 1.79 percent plus $0.25 for swiped cards and 2.6 percent plus $0.25 for keyed-in cards. If you lease the systems, you will need to pay a lease fee of $99.95 to $119.95 per month. Or you can purchase the system outright for $3,295. (These prices are for the Salon version). You may also be charged a yearly PCI compliance fee. Make sure to discuss all terms with TouchSuite before you sign a four- or five-year agreement.
Payment processing services for TouchSuite POS Lease and Value packages are provided by American Bankcard. Integrated merchant services are also provided. This payment solution has been carefully tailored to work with TouchSuite. Using these services, you can accept most forms of payments, including patron mobile phone payments, EMV chip and PIN cards, EBT payments and tableside card payments. Android tablet payment processing options are also available. These payment processing products are Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) validated and PCI compliant.
The newest POS release is called TouchSuite Salon Firefly. This is a salon bundled version that includes an all-in-one touchscreen terminal with an integrated card swiper. The terminal arrives loaded with the Salon Firefly POS software, and the bundle also includes a barcode scanner, receipt printer, keyboard and cash drawer. Other add-ons include a satellite system for performing administrative functions, a customer-facing price display, and debit PIN pads. TouchSuite Cloud is a good point-of-sale option for those who already own the hardware they need. Salon options range from a version that can support one stylist to a more powerful version that can support an unlimited number of stylists.
Restaurant POS systems and retail POS systems are also available from TouchSuite. Both versions come with the basic POS hardware and software, as well as additional components should you need them. Unlike most point-of-sale solutions, this one is compatible with a video surveillance system that can manage between eight and 32 cameras. The security system is not available for lease, but it works with purchased versions. TouchSuite offers numerous supporting features, including gift card and loyalty card support, inventory tracking, delivery management, batch reporting, customer surveys and patron online food ordering.
These point-of-sale suites come with full support. After receiving your POS system, you gain access to the support website for training and online assistance. You can also initiate a chat or telephone conversation during extended support hours every day of the week. Purchased systems come with a one-year warranty and 90 days of free support with the option to upgrade your support package. TouchSuite also provides remote training. If you should experience a hardware failure, the company will ship out replacement parts overnight.
TouchSuite provides a simple-to-use, all-in-one POS solution that can manage most small restaurants or salons. The company is motivated to keep your system running properly, which is a great stress reliever for small-business owners. If you find the merchant services long-term agreement acceptable, this is one of the best all-in-one POS and payment processing solutions.
