Pros / The software offers network tools.
Cons / Its success rate in recovering lost video and music files was only 42% – the lowest rate of the applications we tested.
Verdict / The EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is easy to use, but this application is best suited for recovering photos or documents.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard does a good job recovering photos and documents that are lost but has a low success rate with multimedia files. This Mac data recovery is very easy to use, though, and the software shines with the tools it offers businesses and its customer support. Based on these factors, it earns the Top Ten Reviews Silver Award.

Our tests of each of the Mac data recovery applications on our list covered the two most common causes of data loss – files that have been deleted and a drive that has been reformatted – and for three types of files (photos, documents and multimedia).
When comparing recovery success rates, one thing to keep in mind is that even though the recovery rate of some programs can vary by as little as 1%, in reality, this percent can translate into thousands of files, depending on the size of the drive and number of items lost.
In our tests, EaseUS recovered 97% of the photos lost by deletion. In our test retrieving lost data on reformatted drives, it recovered 93% of the photos. These percentages, while high, are just below the average of the products we tested.
The program fares above average when it comes to retrieving documents. It had a 94% success rate with lost documents and 96% with reformatted documents. The success rate for document recovery among the different software applications on our list ranged from 34% to 100%.
EaseUS did not handle media file recovery well at all, with an average success rate of only 42% in our lost file tests. In the reformatted drive test, it scored slightly lower, with a 41% average. As with the other Mac recovery programs we tested, most of the recovered MOV and MP4 video files it recovered were damaged, showed a black screen or lacked audio. Music files sometimes only contained snippets. We did not count these recoveries as successes in our testing. If you are looking for software that can recover media files, R-Studio and Data Rescue 4 both recovered over 90 percent of lost files in our test.
Ease of Use
EaseUS prides itself on easy-to-use programs, and Data Recovery Wizard for Mac is no exception. Of special note is the Quick Scan feature that lets you scan and repair in a single click. It runs faster than the deep scan mode but may be what you need to recover only specific files.
Unlike many of the data recovery programs we evaluated, this one lists the real file names, making it easy to check if you got back the files you needed. (It's important to note that running a recovery program more than once typically increases the number of files you're able to recover.)
Overall, the scanning speeds for EaseUS run below average. This has no effect on the quality of the scan or the files it's able to recover; it's just something to consider. While this software is scanning your hard drive, you can still use your computer, but you should not download or save anything to the drives being scanned.
EaseUS doesn't have advanced recovery tools, but nonetheless offers a comprehensive tool set useful for businesses needing disk recovery. The remote network access means your IT personnel can perform lost file recovery on any hard drive connected to your network, an excellent feature, especially if you have computers operating remotely via a network. EaseUS can also tackle RAID hard drive recovery.
Another excellent tool is the bootable disk version, which comes on a flash drive. If your hard drive has so fully crashed that the computer will not boot up, this feature might save the day.
EaseUS offers free upgrades on all its versions, including the version that is specifically for technicians who do disk repair for clients.
Help & Support
EaseUS is the only software that earned top marks for its support features. It offers technical support via live chat, email or phone. Very few companies offer all three options. You don't need to exit the program to access tech support via email, either. Like all good Mac data recovery programs, it has guides on its website, but it also offers a forum in case you have a que
stion or suggestion. The developers answer questions on the forum as well.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is easy-to-use software, especially if you want the Quick Scan function. The performance is not exceptional (its success rate for recovering media files was mediocre), but if your business is seeking software with more advanced features, like a bootable drive and compatibility with networks and RAID systems, it may be worth investigating further.
