Our Verdict

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is a fantastic printer that sits in the niche somewhere between a home and office printer. It has great print quality, fast speeds and smart features. It’s ideal for small businesses or home offices, but the mediocre photo printing means it’s not great for casual home use.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is a fantastic choice if you’re looking to save time and cut out the hassle, thanks to it’s quick printing speeds and smart functionality. It offers you the ability to organize, print, scan and copy your documents remotely via the mobile app which means no more awkward queuing at the printer waiting for your turn. With all this modern technology packed into a surprisingly stylish box, it’s easy to see why the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer made our list of the best all-in-one printers.

In truth, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is a hybrid of sorts, sitting somewhere between a home printer and an office printer, which means it can be used in either scenario. With a relatively compact form factor for an all-in-one printer, it will comfortably fit in most home office set-ups, but it has enough printing capacity to manage equally well in a small office too.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer review: Print quality

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer has excellent print quality as noted by both professional reviewers and user reviews. PCMag noted that it was near perfect for printing text, and still looked great when printing charts and slides from Excel or Powerpoint.

It’s quick too, printing monochrome black and white pages at 22 pages per minute, with a slightly slower speed of 18 pages per minute for color pages. It also has a recommended monthly page volume of 1500 pages, which means it should be able to handle a small office of businesses needs as well as home use.

While the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer isn’t exactly a dedicated photo printer, it can also print out respectable quality photos in a pinch. These aren’t going to be good enough to frame, but if you need to print images for office presentations and the like, it will do the job. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One also supports borderless printing.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer review: Features

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is an inkjet printer which uses a four cartridge system - black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. This is the standard setup that you’ll find in most inkjet printers, though some of the competition uses a fifth slot for specialised photo printing ink - this includes the Canon PIXMA TR8520. We’d have liked to have seen that here, but the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One isn’t really pushing itself as a photo printer.

The main selling point of the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One is its impressive suite of smart features. You can use your smartphone or other devices to manage, print, scan and copy your documents with ease. The Smart Tasks feature in the HP Smart app lets you search for and edit scanned documents directly using either your smartphone or using the printer’s 2.7-inch touch screen display. There are also shortcuts to allow for seamless two-sided scanning, without the need to go in manually and change the settings.

You can wirelessly connect to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One using either WiFi or your mobile network and print documents stored on cloud storage platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

Alongside all the smart tech, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One also comes with a 35-sheet capacity automatic document feeder so you don’t constantly need to refill the paper tray. This capacity isn’t enormous, especially for office use, but it’s bigger than most printers in this weight division.

The scanner has a scanning resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi, though this drops down to 600 dpi if you’re using the copy function. On the plus side though, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One does support dual-sided copying and scanning automatically.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer review: Price and warranty

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer currently has an MSRP of $229.99, or you can buy it with two years of ink deliveries for $399.89. Obviously whether this will actually cover your needs depends on what you define as two years of ink, but for HP this assumes an average of around 300 printed pages per month, which seems like plenty for most home users.

For peace of mind, you also get a one year manufacturers warranty with the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer, which is respectable, but we’d have liked to see a two-year warranty here. You’re also free to return or exchange your purchase within 30 days if you’re not happy.

Should you buy the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer?

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is a great all rounder, which is exactly what you want from an all-in-one printer. It’s got a compact, professional looking design that suits both home and working environments, and it’s print capacity and quality back up this dual purpose approach. It’s also packed with modern features like an ADF and smart app connectivity, so you can manage your jobs from your smartphone.

The only real downside is that it’s not amazing at photo printing, so if you’re looking for  a home printer that can kick out amazing photo prints of your holiday snaps, then maybe look at something like the Canon PIXMA TR8520
