Top Ten Reviews uses live malware downloads and malicious sites to determine how well an antivirus program recognizes, tags and blocks a threat from attacking a computer.

After each threat is deployed, we record if the antivirus program correctly identified the threat and at which point it was stopped (i.e. was the download interrupted, prevented from starting, or was the threat allowed to be opened or saved before the software isolated the threat).
