Audio Editor Gold has a lot to offer beginners, but it lacks some of the sophisticated tools for advanced users that competing audio editing software has. There are features to like, though. This product is quite easy to use. The effects list is off to the left side of the interface, and you can just drag and drop the one you want onto the portion of the music you have selected. You may also enjoy its unique noise-reduction features – vocal breath-noise reduction and cassette noise-reduction tools.

Once your audio file is complete, you can use the software's imbedded burning feature to put it on a CD. This option only works for audio files and it is not compatible with MIDI files or sound cards, but we like the option to burn a CD, which we did not find with every product we compared.

Audio Editor Gold supports many different file formats that you can easily import into the application. Once the file is in the editing area, you can alter it with nine different effects: Invert, Reverse, Silence, Convert Channel, Amplitude, Fade, Delay, Stretch Time and Pitch Shift.

You can also apply nine different filters to the audio file: Notch Filter, Band Pass, Low Pass, High Pass, Low Shelf, High Shelf, Peak EQ Filer, Graphic EQ Filter and FFT Filter. You can add silence, noise, a DTMF signal or another file to your editing project.

The application offers seven different tools for your audio editing enjoyment: File Merger, Batch Converter, Batch Normalize, Text To Speech, WMA Information, Extract Region and Erase Disc.

We had no problems using this application. The interface is very smooth and loaded quickly. In part, the ease of use is due to the uncomplicated nature of the application. The lack of additional features means that the existing features are easy to find and manage.

The best place to receive technical support is through the Audio Editor Gold website. While online, you can view a demo through YouTube, email the sales or technical support team, and view help documents.

Audio Editor Gold is serviceable audio editing software that's on its way to doing big things. The results of our tests were high quality, and the application made it easy to produce a finished product. We would recommend this product if you want a stripped down version of its more robust competitors. This product isn't deficient by any means; it just needs some work before it can truly compete.
