Why you can trust Top Ten Reviews Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Sundance Spas doesn’t have the entry-level hot tub options of some of the other best hot tubs (opens in new tab) we reviewed, but we think it offers durable models which seat a good amount of people. There’s also the advantage of app compatibility, although this comes with an additional subscription. Not all of the companies we reviewed offered such a variety in terms of shapes, which means if you’re looking to fit a hot tub in a specific area of your home, Sundance Spas could be a good choice for you.

Sundance Spas Hot Tubs review: Pricing and value

  • Range of prices, with more premium than entry-level options
  • Exact pricing requires a quote

Sundance Spas does not have specific prices listed on its website but does give a list of price ranges that each spa model falls into. These ranges are entry-level for spas up to $7,999, mid-level for spas between $8,000 and $11,999, premium for spas $12,000 to $15,000 and luxury for top-of-the-line spas that cost more than $16,000. The company has more models on the higher end, with 16 premium and luxury models and just nine entry- and mid-level models.

Five of the seven recommended “Customer Favorites” also fall into the more expensive categories, indicating that Sundance Spas’ focus rests more in higher-quality spas, which offer more, high-quality features and custom options than the company’s entry-level spas. Sundance Spas Hot Tubs review: Models and choice

  • 26 models, with a variety of shapes and sizes
  • Models to fit up to seven people

Across its four product lines, Sundance Spas has 26 total hot tub models. The 680 series includes seven entry-level and mid-level hot tubs that range from a triangular two-seat model to a square spa that seats up to seven. For a larger variety, have a read of our Cal Spas Hot Tubs review (opens in new tab). Sundance spas are described as plug-and-play, meaning they work with a standard 120v outlet.

The other options are the 780, 880, and 980 lines, with the price and quality of the products increasing with each step up. The higher-quality model lines come with more features and options for customization options like shell color, as well as more jets and seat types.

The 980 series includes four tubs that seat five to size or six to seven people, all of which are in the luxury price category. These spas feature a lounge deck for additional seating outside of the tub as well as a built-in cooler and touchscreen control panel.

Sundance Spas Hot Tubs review: Features

  • Fluidix Jets are durable and controllable
  • SmartTub app enabled

Sundance Spas use patented Fluidix Jets, which do not have moving parts and therefore will be less likely to break down over time. The jets are controllable to personalize your massage and are each designed to mimic a certain type of massage like a Shiatsu or deep tissue massage. The Silent Air Injector jets allow you to add fragrances for aromatherapy without compromising the water quality.

Sundance Spas combine water filtration with UV-C light to keep your spa water clean. The CLEARRAY PRO3TECT Automatic Oxidizer is available as a factory-installed or aftermarket upgrade for some models, which works with the standard CLEARRAY filter and UV water management system.

Overall, Sundance Spas Hot Tubs aren’t as customizable as Bullfrog Spas Hot Tubs (opens in new tab), but other factory upgrade options include a Bluewave stereo system and an extra layer of insulation made of recycled blue jean material for colder-weather climates.

All Sundance Spas are compatible with the SmartTub app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. It is also Amazon Alexa enabled, which is a nice touch. The SmartTub app allows you to monitor and control your spa remotely. It also lets you schedule repairs or maintenance with a local dealer in the app.

Unfortunately, this smart connectivity comes at a price, as app usage requires a yearly subscription - this seems very mean-spirited, considering the price of the tubs themselves.

Should you buy a Sundance Spas Hot Tub?

With extra-durable jets for longevity and a large variety of shapes and sizes on offer, Sundance Spas tick a lot of boxes for people looking to invest in a high-quality hot tub. If you’re on a budget, however, this might not be the service for you.

The smart features are great, and we love the Alexa integration, but having to pay for the app on a yearly basis is a tarnish on the otherwise excellent offering.
