Remington RM4625 review: Assembly
Any small garden tiller you buy requires some assembly out of the box. This machine is quite easy to put together and should only take you a few minutes. All you have to do is build the handlebar and shaft, then attach it and the wheel assembly to the main tiller unit. You can do it all by hand, and the instructions in the manual are very easy to follow.
Remington RM4625 review: Features
When assembled, this garden tiller weighs 23 pounds, which makes it extremely lightweight. This, plus its gas-powered engine, also make it extremely portable since you're not reliant on an extension cord and an electrical socket for power. There's also the addition of transport wheels, which make it easy to maneuver. This is good news if your garden is situated far from your house.
However, these benefits come with some trade-offs. One trade-off is that you need to mix gasoline and oil in order to power it. Another trade-off is that this tiller has a maximum tilling depth of five inches. Other tillers on our lineup can turn dirt up to eight inches deep. However, five inches is usually sufficient for smaller flower and vegetable gardens. The tilling width of the Remington RM4625 is adjustable, between six and nine inches.
Remington offers a two-year warranty for this device. This should suffice if you happen to receive a defective unit or it wears out before the warranty expires. There are other tillers on our lineup that are warrantied for up to four years.
Should you buy the Remington RM4625?
The Remington Homestead is small garden cultivator that has a lot going for it. You can have it out of the box and in the dirt in just a few minutes. Its gas-powered engine allows you to take it anywhere you have a garden and, when properly maintained and cleaned, will last for years. It doesn't till as deep as some other products on our lineup, but it should still meet your needs if you have a small or medium-sized garden.
