Pros / This iPhone screen protector can withstand a variety of dangerous situations for a screen without penetrating the shield. Some of these calamities include being grazed by an arrow, falling on a bed of nails, withstanding a blast of fire and holding up under a small explosion.

Cons / The invisibleSHIELD has a slightly rubbery feel to it and holds on to oils a little more than other iPhone screen protectors we reviewed.

Verdict / You can use this product on your iPhone without worrying about spending a lot to replace it.

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD iPhone 6 screen protectors are well known for a reason. These iPhone screen protectors are durable, go on smooth, have self-healing qualities and come with a lifetime guarantee. Although these screen protectors feel a little rubbery, they resist oil, allow your finger to glide along the screen, and reduce glare. For these reasons and more, the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD series is our Top Ten Reviews Silver Award winner.

Durability & Protection

The ZAGG invisibleSHIELD uses a strong, self-healing material for its iPhone screen protector. Originally, the military used this same material to coat its helicopter blades to protect them from dust and debris. Now you can get this same protection for your iPhone screen. The invisibleSHIELD Extreme screen protector is 0.39mm thick. The Hi-Definition, Smudge-Proof and Original screen protectors are 0.2mm thick. When we asked ZAGG how hard the screen protector is according to the pencil hardness test, the company said that the iPhone screen protector hasn't undergone that test.

ZAGG has a short video that shows the invisibleSHIELD Extreme protector face extreme situations that would normally scratch or damage an iPhone screen. For instance, it is dropped on a bed of nails, withstands the force of a bowling ball falling on it, stands up against explosions, faces a paintball attack, lasts through a burst of flames and protects the phone against a sanding bit, among other things. When we tested the ZAGG iPhone screen protector, we found that it can hold up against a baseball bat and pop-its. However, it wasn't as good at protecting an iPhone from a blow dart attack. It's also unlikely that it would survive a sanding bit if it had any real pressure applied to it.

Design

ZAGG's iPhone screen protector performs well in this category. The shield is thin and unobtrusive. It does have a mildly textured surface, which will give your iPhone screen a subtle rubbery feel. While this reduces glare and makes it easier to keep a good grip on the phone, the rubbery texture also makes it a little harder to wipe off fingerprints and other oils from the surface. However, it's still better at resisting fingerprints than a bare iPhone screen. After some use, you'll probably begin to notice a faint rainbow sheen on your iPhone's screen; however, you can clean it off with a microfiber cloth.

This product is among the best screen protectors because it stays firmly connected to the screen for a long time. The invisibleSHIELD is a wet-apply screen protector. While it may seem like a bad idea to coat an expensive electronic device in liquid before sticking something to it, it's actually quite safe. It makes the application process much easier. With the wet-apply process, you can reposition the protector with ease by sliding it carefully on the wet surface. It also keeps dust down while applying the protector and makes it easy to locate – and remove – air bubbles.

The protector is made for lasting durability. However, if you need to remove the shield, the invisibleSHIELD comes off nicely, leaving behind little to no sticky residue. In time, if corners begin to peel back slightly, you'll notice it will collect dirt and oil.

The ZAGG invisibleSHIELD comes precut, along with a microfiber cleaning cloth. You can purchase a screen protector by itself or a fully body cover. If you select the maximum coverage, it will even protect the stainless steel frame.

Warranty & Support

One of the biggest selling points of ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD is its lifetime warranty. When you purchase one of these screen protectors, you can receive replacements for life – if you need them. Whether your screen shield is damaged, defective, dirty or just worn out, you can request a new one from ZAGG's headquarters or visit any of the company's mall carts or stores to have it replaced. The warranty alone makes this purchase a solid decision.

Model Options

Whether you want an iPhone 6 screen protector or one for an older iPhone 4 or 5, invisibleSHIELD has you covered. You can select an Extreme, Hi-Definition, Original or Smudge-Proof screen protector. As we mentioned above, you can receive a screen protector for just the screen, or you can purchase a full body cover. These iPhone 6 screen protectors also come in a case-friendly or full-screen design.

Summary

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD has a sturdy design that can withstand a variety of calamities. It will also look professional because ZAGG will install it for you. Although this iPhone screen protector may begin to peel up in time, ZAGG will replace it without a hassle.
