Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) dishwasher is a top control, tall tub dishwasher with water softener. This makes it efficient in delivering a spotless clean/drying performance within an hour. Alongside a wide range of high-spec features, it’s Energy Star qualified and space efficient, like many of the best dishwashers we tested.
With a flexible loading system, the top, 3rd rack, provides an extra 30% loading area, while the FlexSpace feature enables the user to fold back the tines to fit larger items such as pots and pans. Boasting a Pure Dry and Extra Dry feature, this ensures optimum drying results without any heating element, to protect any plastics.
At just 44dba, it is 'whisper quiet', and one of the quietest models on the market. However, the convenient InfoLight is a great indicator of when the machine is in operation.
While there are cheaper models in the 300 Series range, we chose this model for its quality performance, high-end features and extremely quiet output.
As the Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) dishwasher is of a high-specification, the price reflects that - usually costing over the $1,000 mark. While you could find less expensive models in the 300 Series, you do get premium quality, top performance and value for money.

Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) Dishwasher: Features
The Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) dishwasher comes with a number of premium features, that have practicality in mind. Some of the key features of the Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) dishwasher include the InfoLight function. This shines a small red light on the floor to let you know when it’s on and turns off after the cycle has completed.
While many hard water areas can often leave water residue on dishes or glasses, the built-in water softener guarantees spot-free and sparkling dishes. This also optimises long-term performance without risk of any blockages caused by limescale.
Another handy feature is its roomy, third rack providing 30% extra loading space for utensils, silverware and other essentials. And the RackMatic function enables more versatility with three height adjustments and up to nine rack positions to meet your cleaning needs.

State-of-the art sensors detect and check the progress of every cycle, and its Precision Wash function means you no longer have the arduous task of pre-washing dishes. With five, convenient cycles, the Speed60 cycle has your dishes and glasses clean and dry in just 60 minutes.
An impressive feature is the PureDry function that is able to dry dishes quickly, without the use of fans or outside vents. It simply relies on a high temperature at the end of cycle that eliminates moisture as dishes cool. With no heating elements, this also protects any plastic wear from long-term damage. Bosch’s AquaStop Leak Protection makes sure the dishwasher (and your home) remains leak-free.
Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) Dishwasher: Design
Bosch dishwashers are renowned for sturdy engineering and durability. The stainless steel tub design looks sleek. And its top hidden controls and handle bar give it a stylish flair.
Designed to be versatile and extremely space efficient, its third rack allows for 30% more room than a conventional, two rack dishwasher. The top third rack is a more practical tray for silverware rather than the utensil basket that comes with it. It also has three height adjustments and up to nine possible rack positions, that can be made more spacious by the folding tines to fit large pots, pans and other items.
Overall, its sleek design and practicality gives it top marks all around.
Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) Dishwasher: Performance
Many dishwashers require a pre-wash before loading to ensure a superb clean. But this is not necessary for the Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) dishwasher, thanks to its Precision Wash function that does all the hard work for you. The model has five wash cycles, including Heavy, Auto, Normal, Rinse / Rinse and hold, and Speed60 (1 hour wash). This 60-minute cycle truly does clean and dry just as well as the longer cycles.
Perhaps the real gem here is the in-built, water softener that successfully removes any hard water deposits off glassware. This leaves you with crystal clear glasses and spot-free utensils/cutlery. If you only have a small quantity or lightly soiled dishes, the half load setting is time efficient and saves on your water bills.
In comparison to noisier dishwashers, the 44dBA level means that you hardly hear a sound whilst it’s operating. The useful InfoLight that shines on the floor is a great indicator of letting you know when it’s on. The spray arms project water directly toward your dishes, with less spraying on the inner sides and door, further reducing noise. The only sound you’ll hear is when the water is draining, which isn’t very loud. This is ideal when you’re having a conversation or watching your favorite television series!
Bosch 300 Series (SHXM63WS5N) Dishwasher: User Reviews
The majority of users living in hard water areas report how super-efficient the water softener is. Stating that they experienced no residue marks or streaks at all, leaving them with only sparkling clean dishes and glassware. One user even stated that not only has this cleaned efficiently without a pre-wash, but also removed years of hard water stains on their dishes.
Others have been impressed by how extremely quiet the dishwasher is while operating, and praise the red InfoLight function as a great feature.
The spacious top rack for utensils has been very popular, with one user saying it’s a great place to wash baby bottle parts without damage.
A minor drawback mentioned is the 'auto' setting doesn't really dry the dishes as well as the 'normal' setting does. And a few have mentioned the difficulty of finding the dishwater salt in stores. However, this can be easily resolved by contacting Customer Services.
