With the choice of six long-lasting filters, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 certainly doesn’t underperform. In fact, this air purifier has battled its way to the very top of our list of the best air purifiers. How? The sleek, wall-mounted design doesn’t stand out in a contemporary home like a sore thumb. At the same time, the air purifier covers up to 815 square feet and passes particles through an intense six-stage purification process that includes a choice of customizable filters.

If you suffer from allergies and asthma, you’ll be in good hands with this Rabbit Air purifier. The six filters include a HEPA filter and charcoal-based activated carbon filter, two well-regarded filtration methods. On top of that, you can pick and choose between four filters that target germs, toxins, pet dander, and odors, helping you to target the biggest culprits for your symptoms personally.

Granted, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 is an example of a higher-end air purifier, and investing in one will set you back by almost $600. However, for the little extra money, the air purifier really does deliver. Smart features include WiFi connectivity, as well as smart sensors that can pick up on shifts in indoor air quality. This is all with the backing of one of the biggest air purifier companies at the minute, Rabbit Air.

Rabbit Air has actually produced three versions of the Rabbit AirMinusA2 air purifier, as follows, but your best bet is the Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780N, which has an additional auto mode and smart sensor:

  • Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-700A: covers up to 700 sq ft
  • Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780A: covers up to 815 sq ft
  • Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780N: covers up to 815 sq ft + Wi-Fi-enabled

Rabbit Air MinusA2: Price

The RRP of the Rabbit Air MinusA2 starts at $549.95 for the most basic model, the SPA-700A; while the top-tier Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780N retails at $619.95. That places the Rabbit Air MinusA2 at the top-end of the air purifier market, and we rarely see much in the way of discounts and deals on this model – although they do occasionally happen.

Rabbit Air MinusA2: Features

All three versions of the Rabbit Air MinusA2 come with the company's impressive six-step purification and deodorization system. It starts with a pre-filter, which captures large particles – such as dust and pet hair – and helps to protect the finer filters. Next, comes a medium filter that traps pet dander, large pollen, mold and any dust that has made it through the pre-filter.

There's then an advanced BioGS HEPA filter, which is a True HEPA filter and captures 99.97% of allergens, virus particles, mold and pollen particles down to 0.3 microns. Following this, there's a customized filter.

One of the MinusA2's unique features is that it gives you the ability to customize filtration to target your specific concerns, so here you can choose between germ defense, pet allergy, odor remover, or toxin absorber filters.

Next, an Activated Carbon filter traps nasty smells – such as smoke and pet odor – keeping your home smelling fresh and clean. And finally, there’s an Ion generator. This enables the filters to better trap particles in the air for more efficient use.

Bear in mind that Ion generators can sometimes cause concern for asthma sufferers as they emit ozone, which can irritate breathing. However, on the Rabbit Air MinusA2 the Ion generator is optional, so you can switch it on and off as required.

For the light sleepers out there, this air purifier will detect if the room has gone dark and automatically switch to night mode. It can also produce subtle mood lighting through LED lights on the front panel. The Rabbit Air MinusA2 is ultra-quiet, thanks to its advanced 'brushless direct current motor' technology, which gives you the choice of five different speeds. At the lowest speeds, there is almost no noise at all.

Finally, if you choose the Rabbit Air MinusA2 SPA-780N, you'll get Wi-Fi functionality, so you control its output via a dedicated iOS or Android app.

Rabbit Air MinusA2: Performance

Testing revealed a remarkable level of air purification after just one hour of using the Rabbit Air MinusA2. The review set up was in a medium-sized bedroom, and showed that air quality quickly went from moderate to good, while levels of particulate matter both 10 micrometers and smaller (PM 10), and 2.5 micrometers and smaller, reduced to almost nothing in that timespan. That's exceptional raw cleaning power.

Should you buy the Rabbit Air MinusA2?

The Rabbit Air MinusA2 is a well-rounded, long-lasting air purifier that doesn’t play around when it comes to targeting allergens in your home. With an Energy Star certification and a six-stage filtration process, we reckon that this is the top air purifier right now.

Customizable filters are the cherry on top for allergy sufferers, as they can be used to specifically target the pollutants that trigger your symptoms the most, whether it’s germs, pet dander, odors, or toxins.

The Rabbit Air MinusA2 is by no means the most budget-friendly purifier out there, but with a coverage of huge spaces of up to 815 square feet and a sleek, wall-mounted esthetic, it’s an excellent investment.

If this product isn't for you

If you find that pet dander and odors are the biggest problems at hand, the Winix HR900 Ultimate Pet Air Purifier is specifically designed to handle all the problems encountered by pet owners. The purifier specifically targets odors, pet hair, and dander, helping you to spend time with your furry friend without worrying too much about the state of your home when you welcome guests around.

Searching for a budget-friendly alternative for the Rabbit Air purifier instead? The Honeywell HPA300 comes a close second. With fewer features but still plenty of purifying power, this device does a great job at capturing dust, smoke odors, pollen, mold, and viruses.

If it’s a more premium pick you’re after, the Molekule Air fits the bill. This sleek model can handle larger spaces of up to 600 square feet, all while providing high-tech features such as WiFi connectivity and a turbo mode.
