The 48-hour Amazon Prime Day is over. While the reseller has extended the sale on some products, the majority have now expired. It could well have been worth the wait, though, with deeper discounts across select items.
The Famiworths Single Serve Coffee Maker, for example, dropped a further $2 from the RRP $69.99 down to $37.99 at Amazon. And you could apply a $18 coupon at checkout to save more money on the Ninja AF101 Air Fryer. All of these deals were placed on this one page for you to scroll through, all in a bid to help you save time and money. It's worth mentioning that I also witnessed some of the best coffee makers halved in price and substantial discounts on brands, including Bissell, Dyson, and Shark.

Amazon Prime Day 2024: what you need to know
When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon Prime Day took place on 16 - 17 July in the UK and the US. The excitement built with a peppering of early deals up for grabs a couple of weeks prior to the 2-day event.
Last year, we spotted a similar pattern with several epic Prime Day deals available in a couple of weeks running up to the event. Some discounts remained "live" several days following the event itself, too, which would appeal to any last-minute deals hunters for this year's installment.
What was Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a mega two-day event full of epic deals on Amazon's and other favorite brands, including Dyson, Ninja, and Shark. It's exclusively for people with Prime membership, so you won't see the deals unless you're signed up.
Get ready for an adrenaline rush! According to Amazon, we'll drop new deals as often as every five minutes during the 48-hour Prime Day event. This means you'll be on the edge, just like during previous Prime Day deals. And that's not all-Prime members can even request access to invite-only deals by signing up on select products.
How do I become an Amazon Prime member?
To access Amazon Prime Day deals, you must be an Amazon Prime member. This costs $14.99 per month, and you can cancel anytime.
However, if you haven't subscribed to become a member, you can use the 30-day Amazon Prime free trial to buy the deals. You won't be eligible if you've used it in past Prime Day sales or previously signed up for the subscription service.
While on the free trial, you can get all the other membership benefits, including free next-day shipping, access to Prime Video, and more. You can cancel for free any time during the trial while you're in the 30-day window, so it's worth considering for sale events like this.
How does Prime Day work?
You'll see discounts across the site if you've signed up for Amazon Prime and logged into your account. In previous years, Amazon Prime discounts have been clearly marked across the site's 12 million+ products, so you know you're getting the deal because you're a Prime Member.
There are always deals throughout Prime Day, which you can access anytime. Then, there are daily Amazon Prime Day deals, which run for 24 hours or until stock is depleted. Finally, there are Lightning Deals, which appear every few minutes and run until a particular item's stock has been bought up. Sometimes, Lightning Deals run for hours or minutes, depending on the product.
Once you've checked out with all your stuff, that expedited Prime delivery will see the products in your home within a few days. It used to be overnight in most areas, but since the explosion in at-home shopping during 2020 (thanks Covid), deliveries— while still free—can take a little longer.
Amazon Prime Day vs Black Friday: what's the difference?
When scouting for Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday deals, these major shopping events will have the products and/or devices you want for less. There are a couple of key differences, however:
The biggest difference is that Amazon Prime Day provides exclusive discounts and offers only for their Prime members. In contrast, other retailers share discounts and deals during Black Friday with all shoppers. The timings of the two events are different, too, with Prime Day running two events in the year of late - one in the summer and the other in the fall, with Black Friday historically taking place on the last Friday of November.
Until recently, Prime Day was a fantastic opportunity to buy smart home devices such as the best video doorbells, smart speakers, and smart lights. Black Friday was an opportunity to obtain large appliances, furnishings, mattresses, and other household goods. However, with Prime Day now becoming a fixture not once but twice a year and a growing demand, brands listed with Amazon are jumping on the bandwagon so that you can get your hands on a wider selection of products.
When does Prime Day end?
Amazon Prime Day is technically only a 2-day event with many deals set to expire on midnight July 17. While we saw more Prime Exclusive deals continue through to the weekend, don't expect the prices to be the same as they were during the sales period. Though there were some deeper discounts, a lot of items were no longer on sale; that's always the risk when you wait since nothing is guaranteed until you add to cart.
