Amazon’s Prime Day is here, and even the biggest brands aren’t escaping the price drops – and they don’t get much bigger than Apple. The company’s 2020 iMacs have been reduced, with the 21.5-inch model, which offers a retina 4K display and wireless peripherals down to just $999.99 at Amazon. That’s a saving of just shy of $300.

For that price you’ll find a flash storage drive with 256GB capacity, the Radeon Pro 555X graphics processor, and an Intel Core i3 chip, and while it won’t outpace the 2021 model, it’ll still make for a solid workhorse.

There’s a saving of $100 off of the 27-inch iMac, too, if you have the space for its larger retina 5K display. If you're looking for more great deals on computers then check out our Prime Day USA deals roundup.

With an iconic design, an all-in-one setup, and that mesmerizing 21.5-inch (or 27-inch) display, there’s a lot to like about the iMac 2020. It’s a perfect machine for the whole family to use, and a great way to get to grips with macOS.

The iMac 2021 may have been revealed earlier this year with a colorful new design and the company’s powerful M1 chip, but there are certain things it just can’t match with the previous generation.

For one there’s the classic ‘silver and black’ design of the classic machine, which for another, there’s the array of ports included. The 2020 iMac offers ethernet, two USB-C ports, four USB-A ports, a memory card reader, and a headphone jack, making it an ideal hub for the family room, or an office.

The 21.5-inch version is also smaller than the 24-inch replacement. Sure, it’s less colorful, but it does offer a sleek Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard in the box, too, making it one of our best home computers right up until its successor arrived.

As for the huge 27-inch model, there’s no comparison – literally. That’s because the new 2021 iMac doesn’t get bigger than 24-inches, meaning this is still the biggest Mac desktop money can buy. Still not sure? Why not check our our Apple iMac review where we awarded the pair four out of five stars.
