The Safety Tubs Value Series SSA6030LJ-WH walk-in bathtub doesn't compromise comfort for safety – it caters to both needs. Aging in place requires that some of your fixtures be ADA-compliant, and this bathtub meets that requirement.

This safe step tub has a low threshold, so it's easy to step in and out of it. It also includes a chair-height, contoured seat that's built into the tub, which is easy to sit down on and stand up from. There's also an integrated safety grab bar to give you stability as you enter or exit the tub. The textured floor gives your feet better grip so there are fewer opportunities to slip and fall. This is a great tub for those with limited mobility, but it doesn't quite qualify as a handicap bathtub, because it's difficult to move from a wheelchair to this tub.

Aside from the important safety features, this walk-in tub includes a six-jet hydrotherapy system. The jets are adjustable, and you can even set them up to do a legs-only massage. Even without the jets deployed, you can enjoy a long, hot soak in the 37-inch-deep tub that holds up to 75 gallons of water. The size is the same as a traditional tub, so it easily fits in a 60 x 30-inch alcove. Another tub with even more adjustable jets is the American Standard Gelcoat Standard.

Safety Tubs offers its walk-in tubs at a lower cost than many other safe step tubs, so it's a relatively affordable luxury option. To make your tub even more luxurious, you can add more features. You can add on an air jet system for a gentler massage than water jets, a quick draining system so you don't have to sit in the emptying tub as long, chromotherapy to light up your water in different colors, a neck pillow or a handheld shower.

This Safety Tubs model is available in white or biscuit, which are the most common neutral colors for a bathtub, so it's likely to fit with your style. The door has a watertight seal, which is important to ensure your bathroom floor doesn't get wet. If you notice a leak, you can contact the manufacturer about the seal's limited lifetime warranty. All of the other components on this tub are protected by a limited 10-year warranty.
