PROS / This TV has one of the best built-in speakers we've seen in a 3D TV.
CONS / The display could be a tad better.
VERDICT / The JVC brand is not widely regarded as it once was, but this 3D TV will do the job and features qualities you would expect from the best 3D TVs.
Consumers may be surprised to find that JVC has a 3D TV on the market. The BlackSapphire is JVC’s high-definition LED offering. Unfortunately, the BlackSapphire comes up a tad short compared to the best 3D LED TVs.
JVC once made high-end consumer products; it was the leader in the VHS and Betamax war in the early '80s. Unfortunately, in recent history, the many companies have moved ahead of JVC. As a result, the BlackSapphire line may not be the most popular, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad TV. It's a dependable product with strengths as well as weaknesses.
The display of this TV is full high definition. However, not all HD is equal. In side-by-side comparisons, the JVC BlackSapphire display looked a little duller than its top competitors. The best 3D TVs have amazingly vibrant pictures; the BlackSapphire looks a bit pale in comparison.
This TV does feature all the features you would expect from a high-end LED TV. It has 2D to 3D conversion. With four pairs of passive 3D glasses, you and your friends can enjoy plenty of 3D content. You can connect this TV to the internet through the Ethernet port or the built-in Wi-Fi. One of the best features of is the XinemaSound 3D. This TV sports two 15W speakers while most TVs only fire with two 10W speakers. This provides a deeper and richer sound than most other 3D LED TVs.
JVC is a somewhat nostalgic brand, though its newest BlackSapphire TV is one of the top 10 3D TVs on the market. It features an above-average display with great speakers and features like 3D viewing and internet connectivity. However, its picture quality is lower than many 3D TVs in our comparison. If you’re not looking for one of the more well-known 3D TVs, the BlackSapphire series could work for you.
