When you think of the best LCD TVs, you may be surprised to find that the Sanyo LCD TV is near the top of the list. The Sanyo brand might be unfamiliar, but with LCD TVs that is not too surprising. Many of the top TV manufacturers have shifted the focus to making LED TVs, leaving the lesser-known companies to make LCD televisions. Sanyo makes a surprisingly good LCD TV with one of the best pictures, great sound and all the high-quality specs you expect from a top LCD TV, which is why the Sanyo LCD TV wins the Top Ten Reviews Gold Award.

Display Quality

One of the best things about off-brand LCD TVs is you pay less for a device made from the same parts top companies use. Many of the major players like Samsung, Sony and Panasonic manufacture the panels and parts that generic-brand LCD TVs use. Generic-brand companies don’t have an advertising budget like the bigger companies, hence, the companies won’t add advertising costs to the price of the LCD TVs. You save money while still getting the quality of the best TV manufacturers.

One of the biggest differences between this LCD TV and others is the brightness of the LCD display. Some of the low-end LCD TVs have dimly lit displays, but the Sanyo is one of the best and brightest LCD TV screens on the market. The brighter screen will make watching this TV more enjoyable. The small caveat with this TV is that the contrast and color accuracy could be a tad better.

Most flat panel TVs are high definition now, but not all HD is the same. High definition TVs can run at 720p or 1080p; the latter is full high definition. This Sanyo LCD TV has a full high definition display combined with two 10-watt speakers. HDTV speakers will produce just average sound (which is why we recommend connecting a sound bar or sound system) but most LCD TVs run 8-watt speakers or lower. With this Sanyo TV, you will be buying one of the best combinations of picture and audio in an LCD TV.

Unless your new TV has enough connections for all your different devices, the TV won’t do you much good. With a high definition TV, you will want to connect HD devices with an HDMI cable. Not only does this LCD TV have three HDMI inputs, which matches the most HDMI inputs on any LCD TV we reviewed, but this TV also has two component connections, rare to see on an LCD TV. This is important in case you have older, non-HD devices you would like to hook into this TV.
