Sharp is one of the most well-known TV companies on the market. The Sharp Aquos Q smart TV helps build the Sharp reputation of reliability, value and screen quality. Like many Sharp TVs, the Aquos Q comes with Sharp’s proprietary Quattron color-enhancing technology, impressively large screens and the Smartcentral 3.0 hub for easy access to smart apps.

This smart TV series eliminates the need for separate internet media servers like a Chromecast or Roku. Sharp’s built-in Smartcentral 3.0 hub is an easy-to-use menu for accessing preloaded internet apps. From the menu interface, you can access web apps as well as TV programming. This allows you to search for shows, choose a channel or go to popular apps from one location.

Speaking of popular apps, the Sharp Q series is full of apps. You can stream your favorite shows or movies using the built-in Netflix and Hulu Plus apps. You can also listen to music using Pandora. There are also social media sites like Facebook YouTube. It's a good thing the Aquos Q has a wide selection of preloaded apps because Sharp does not have an app store where you can download other apps.

This TV has one of the most vibrant pictures for smart TVs. In our side-by-side tests we could see that Sharps perform well in color accuracy and black levels. Colors appear fresh and vibrant, whereas lower-end TVs have a more washed-out picture. The Aquos Q has a 240Hz refresh rate, which means live sports or fast-moving scenes will look very smooth. TVs with low refresh rates suffer from compression artifacting and motion blur.

While most TVs use just three color pixels, Sharp TVs add a fourth (yellow) pixel to increase vibrancy. The Aquos Q has a deep color range; in fact, it's one of the best smart TV displays we've seen. The Sharp Q series only comes in a 60 or 70-inch screen. Top competitors have anywhere between five and 10 screen sizes to choose from.

This brand is one of the most highly regarded in smart TV circles. The Sharp Aquos Q series has one of the better picture displays combining beautiful colors with a fast refresh rate for pristine video. The Smartcentral hub is one of the easiest home screens to use, merging all your important apps and functions onto one easy-access screen. While many apps are already loaded on the TV, including popular apps like Netflix and Hulu Plus, Sharp does not have a dedicated app store for additional app downloads. This Sharp TV only comes in 60 and 70-inch sizes, which are perfect for larger rooms.
