Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven: What you need to know

Designed to be compact, it has a 1.2-quart capacity and comes in four parts. Equipped with plenty of useful features including, browning control, a 60-minute timer, a keep warm setting, and a slide-out crumb tray, it also comes with an air fry basket, baking pan, and wire rack. It comes in silver with a sleek, stainless steel design and has a handy viewing window to monitor your food while it’s cooking.
Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven: Features
The Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven does more than just air fry. Perhaps the selling point here is its dual toasting oven function, ideal for bread, pizza, and bagels. The fryer itself uses convection and evenly cooks a range of foods from frozen fries to cookies, but it also provides a lighter way to cook food without the need for masses of oil. The oven itself heats up quickly and holds a high heat, reducing the cooking time of almost everything.
With a 1.2 quart capacity and one rack, it is smaller than most which may not be suitable for big families. If you’re looking for something bigger, read our NuWave Brio 37001 6-Quart Air Fryer review (opens in new tab). However, the Cuisinart is enough for four slices of toast and can accommodate small portions of meat. Best of all, it’s small enough to fit nicely on compact countertops and is easily portable.
Another handy feature is its viewing window so you can keep an eye on your food. However, we were disappointed that it doesn’t have an interior light or handles on the tray or rack pulling handle for when it gets too hot.
Unlike most air fryers with digital controls, the Cuisinart Air Fryer has basic control knobs that are simple to use but for the price you pay, this might be disappointing for some users.
It’s worth noting that cleaning the wire basket and interior can be difficult and the tray is not dishwasher safe. However, this can be resolved by lining the wire basket with foil to minimize any mess.
Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven: User reviews
The majority of users were pleased with the Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven’s dual functionality of air fryer and toaster oven, impressed by the range of foods cooked perfectly. The air fryer rated an average of 4.3 out of five stars on Home Depot. Many were impressed with the convection function saying it cut their baking time in half and how nice the results were on a range of foods from pizza to vegetables.
Others praised its ease of use and liked its compact size as it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. However, some said it was too small to cook large quantities and only sufficient to cook a meal for two people. A few would have preferred a rack pull handle as the oven door gets too hot. In addition, many struggled to clean the wire basket and interior thoroughly and the pan is not dishwasher safe.
Should you buy the Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven?
The Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer Toaster Oven is a powerful and convenient air fryer and toaster hybrid that gives impressive results. While it’s not digital, it is simple to use and looks sleek with its silver stainless steel design. Its main downside is it has a smaller capacity which would only be more suitable for a household of two or just for smaller dishes. If there are more people in your home, then you’ll be better off with a larger model.
