Electrolux EI23BC82SS review: Design/features
This french-door fridge freezer straddles the line between luxury and high-end thanks to its sleek stainless steel finish and well thought-out range of features. The Perfect Temp Drawer is the main feature that sets it apart from its competitors. While preset temperature ranges are available, for items such as wine and cheese, the temperature of this drawer is completely customizable, so you can use it as a back up crisper drawer or fill it with other temperature-sensitive foodstuffs. The crisper drawer itself keeps fruit and veggies fresher for longer with adjustable humidity settings, so no need to worry about produce going bad just after you bought it.
Capacity is about average, but if you're looking for more storage, then the LG LMXS30796S and Kenmore Elite 73025.
Overall capacity: 22.2 cubic feet
Freezer capacity: 6.8 cubic feet
Refrigerator shelves: 5
Refrigerator door bins: 8
Through Door Dispenser: None
The Electrolux EI23BC82SS’s self-closing doors mean you don’t need to wonder if you (or the kids) accidentally left the door open. But if something does get in the way of the doors shutting, the refrigerator alarm system will alert you to this as well as other important changes, including power failures and elevated freezer temperatures.
The IQ-Touch control panel allows you to control all the customizable features of the fridge freezer from within an easy-to-use display.
Electrolux EI23BC82SS review: Performance
Tests on reviewed.com found that the Electrolux EI23BC82SS maintained consistent temperatures within the fridge portion, but the freezer didn’t fare quite as well. Their testers found that the temperature swings above and below 0°F enough that, to avoid freezer burn, the freezer should be set a couple of degrees below zero.
Electrolux EI23BC82SS review: User reviews
User reviews tend to complement the bright LED lights and easy-to-adjust shelves, while others mention that the in-freezer ice maker can be quite noisy and sometimes causes the door to stick.
Reviews also mention that this model has excellent fridge-freezer capacity, especially for a counter-depth model, and while some have found the odd drawer can stick a bit over time, most compliment the way they glide in and out easily. Users also compliment the number of drawers and compartments, with one mentioning that they particularly loved the deli/snack drawer.
This french door fridge-freezer tends to gain an average user rating of 3 to 3.5 out of 5.
Should I buy the Electrolux EI23BC82SS French door refrigerator?
If you’re looking for a sleek fridge with good storage options, then the Electrolux EI23BC82SS is a great option. The customizable temperature drawer allows you to set up your fridge to store the produce you most enjoy (and serve wine at the perfect temperature for you).
While the lack of through the door ice is a disadvantage for some, a number of user reviews mentioned that they had deliberately avoided fridges with that option due to problems they had experienced with them in the past.
It comes in towards the expensive end of the french door fridge-freezer market, but it’s easy to use thanks to considered design and, overall, it does what you need it to do and does it well.
