The Flame & Shade Sheldon electric stove heater is a modern, lightweight version of the traditional log-burning stove. It’s a novel approach to design, as it’s doing its best to be something we all know it’s not. The thing is, this model actually looks really good.

It’s portable, so you can move it from room to room without any trouble, and with its realistic burning log and 3D flame effect, it’ll keep you cozy and warm and give you all the benefits of a beautiful fireplace without having to manage and prepare wood or gas - or worry about smoke, or the smell of smoke, and forgetting to put out a real fire before bed.

The Sheldon fireplace heater has a heat resistant ABS plastic cabinet with a tempered glass door front, so it’s a very safe option. As with most space heaters, it works on a low (750w) or high (1500w) heat option.

Flame & Shade Sheldon heater also has a safety cut-off in case it gets knocked off balance.

Flame & Shade Sheldon Electric Stove Heater: Design

  • Flame effect will operate independently of the heater
  • 3D flame effects are pretty dependent on your interior lighting levels

The flame effect will operate independently of the heater, so you can have something that actually looks good without needing to use any heat. In other words, if you just like the look of a real fire but it’s actually July, you can still have it in the room and it’ll look good in the evenings. The Flame & Shade Sheldon heater is built to bring supplemental heat to small room sizes up to 400ft², so it’s not ideal for big spaces but works well in your average living room.

Its 3D flame effects are pretty dependent on your interior lighting levels: if you have a particularly bright room, you’ll only see a dim log effect. The best glow is achieved in darker rooms with no direct or reflective bright light. Considering you’ll no doubt mostly be using this heater when it’s cold outside, and cold usually means dark, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Flame & Shade Sheldon Electric Stove Heater: Performance

  • Six different flame effect settings
  • Thermostat is a handy timer function

The Flame & Shade Sheldon heater comes with a remote control (batteries included) and has a whopping six different flame effect settings. It also comes with a thermostat so you can keep an eye on temperature and ensure you heat your room to the exact warmth you want, without the room getting too hot.

Along with the thermostat is a handy timer function, so you can set it to go on and off even if you’re not around. You could set it to warm up your living space before coming downstairs in the morning, or programme it to come on before you get home from work so you don’t have to wait for the room to heat up. There’s also a safety switch that comes into play if the heater reaches a high temperature.
