The Maytag MFI2570FEZ is a great option if you need space and plenty of it. With 18 cubic feet of refrigerator space, this model is great for families. However, its freezer is on the small side compared to some of the best French door refrigerators we reviewed, adding only 6.7 cubic feet of space. If you need a fridge with a larger freezer, consider the KitchenAid KRFF707ESS.

This Maytag fridge has a PowerCold function that lets you set the temperatures lower for a short time to chill or freeze groceries quickly. The refrigerator then returns to its normal set temperature to maintain the cool.

The water and ice dispenser has some nice features, including a filtration system to purify the water for drinking. Also, the ice bin holds 3 pounds when full – most French door refrigerators' ice bins hold only 1 pound. The dispenser is designed to accommodate large containers such as pitchers and water bottles, making it easy to fill them with ice or water.

There are five shelves in the refrigerated section, and you can adjust them to make room for large items. The Maytag MFI2570FEZ also has two crisper drawers with adjustable temperature controls, plus the doors are lined with six additional bins, including three gallon-size bins. There isn’t a designated dairy bin, but there is a full-length external drawer that is big enough to hold items such as meats and party platters. It’s unusual but useful to have an external drawer rather than an internal bin.

Like most French door fridges, this Maytag model has a two-tier freezer. There are a total of six bins, which are made from durable plastic and vary in depth. The special “pizza pocket” bin right behind the freezer door easily fits pizza boxes and other bulky items.

This Maytag fridge is more energy efficient than most models we reviewed. It is Energy Star certified and costs about $82, or $3.32 per cubic foot, to run for a year. It also uses less electricity than average – an estimated 685 kilowatts annually.

In addition to the standard one-year warranty, Maytag includes a 10-year warranty on the compressor. This is helpful since it is the main component responsible for cooling the refrigerator. However, several other parts in the sealed system are not covered by an extended warranty. It’s common for these smaller parts to go out sooner than the compressor, so it’s helpful when a manufacturer extends a warranty to this system.

The Maytag MFX2676FRZ is a 24.7-cubic-foot French door refrigerator. The refrigerator has adjustable shelves you can arrange to fit your food plus six door bins, including gallon-size bins that fit all kinds of drinks. The ice bin holds 3 pounds of ice, and the water dispenser is large enough to accommodate tall containers. Maytag offers an extended warranty on the compressor, but the rest of the sealed system and parts are only covered for one year. The MFX2576FRZ is one of the most energy efficient fridges we evaluated.
