The WRX735SDHZ by Whirlpool is a decent French door refrigerator. It’s not the most energy efficient model we considered, but it has a lot to offer, especially in the way of extra organization features.

This is one of the few refrigerators we looked at that has a second external drawer, which is nice for storing snacks and other frequently accessed items. With this feature, you don't have to open the larger compartment and risk wasting energy when you just need to grab a juice box. The drawer also has clear benefits for organization – there is no need to rummage through your whole refrigerator to fish out a small snack that’s been pushed to the back by larger items. If you prefer a more traditional French door refrigerator layout, you may want to consider the Samsung RF23HCEDBSR/AA.

You can use the extra drawer on the WRX735SDHZ to store fresh fruits. If they are front and center in the easy access drawer, there is less chance you will forget about them and leave them to rot. The drawer has separate temperature controls, too, so you can base settings on what you store in it. Another one of the WRX735SDHZ’s useful organization features is its adjustable gallon-size door bins, which make it easy to store bulky drink containers, even if they have uncommon dimensions.

This French door refrigerator is also easy to keep clean. Its exterior is fingerprint-resistant, and the touch controls are easy to wipe down when needed. The spillproof shelves help contain messes so you only have to clean one shelf after a spill, rather than the entire fridge.

The refrigerator’s water and ice features are quite nice as well, and you can access both without having to open the freezer. Also, you can select the amount of water you need, and the fridge will fill your container with that exact amount – it shuts itself off when it’s done, so you don’t have to watch it.

Some of the refrigerator’s weaknesses include a below-average warranty and less impressive energy performance than some of its peers. It costs about $3.28 per cubic foot to run this unit. That's not terrible, but you can find models that use less energy. Even so, it has Energy Star certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, so it is also better than many of its competitors, and it’s definitely better than previous generations of refrigerators. If you are replacing an old beat-up fridge, this one will be noticeably cheaper to run.

Most warranties on French door refrigerators only last a year, but many manufacturers have extended warranties on specific important parts. The WRX735SDHZ’s one-year warranty covers all the parts, with no extensions on key components.

The Whirlpool WRX735SDHZ’s extra refrigerated drawer, adjustable gallon-size door shelves and stay-clean design make it a good addition to your kitchen if organization is important to you. It would be even better if it cost less to operate and had a better warranty, but it is still a good contender overall. It’s attractive and is the kind of modern food storage solution that justifies the relatively large investment.
