This innovative french door fridge freezer is not only a stylish addition to any kitchen, but full of smart features that allow it to run at an optimum level. A slim ice maker means it doesn’t sacrifice internal storage space for this popular feature, while its four-compartment crisper system offers plenty of storage for easy organization of fresh produce.

LG LMXS30796S review: Price

The launch price of the LG LMXS30796S places it firmly in the premium end of the french door fridge freezer market. The RRP is $4199.99 but it is currently available at Home Depot at $2,998, that's 29% off. With the sheer array of smart features on offer in this model, it was never going to be in the budget range, but for those looking to splash the cash on a truly premium fridge freezer, the LG LMXS30796S is definitely worth a closer look.

LG LMXS30796S review: Design/features

The price of this french door fridge freezer means you would expect a great looking model with brilliant usability, storage and a whole host of innovative features. This is is exactly what it delivers. One of its most unique features allows you to see the contents of your fridge without even opening the door. Just two quick knocks and a sleek glass panel illuminates to show you exactly what’s in there without the need to open the door, which reduces cold air loss. A door-in-door feature also allows for access to items in an outer door, without affecting the interior temperature by opening the main door.

The LG LMXS30796S also comes with smartphone integration through LG’s own app. From there you can control functions such as ice production, maybe setting it to make more when you know you have guests coming, as well as receive important notifications, such as when the door has been left open. It’s even able to connect to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so you can send it voice commands from around your home.

LG LMXS30796S: Key specs

Overall capacity: 29.7  cubic feet
Freezer capacity: 8.8 cubic feet
Refrigerator shelves: 4
Refrigerator door bins: 6
Through Door Dispenser: Ice & Water Dispenser

With a capacity of just under 30 cu. Ft. there’s plenty of space to store food for the whole family, delivering more capacity than the Samsung RF23M8570SG and Bosch B36CL80SNS. A versatile CustomChill Drawer allows for additional refrigerator or freezer space when you need it. A four-compartment crisper system also provides plenty of space for produce, while keeping it fresher for longer.

Through the door ice and water are highly desired features, but usually lead to a reduction in internal storage. The LG LMXS30796S comes with a slim ice system, so you can have ice without sacrificing shelf space.

LG LMXS30796S review: User reviews

User reviews for this model are overwhelmingly positive, giving the LG LMXS30796S an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. They particularly compliment the sleek style of this model, with lots of comments that it ‘looks great’. Positive comments about its storage and space are really common, noting that it’s incredibly roomy and with one calling the middle CustomChill drawer ‘sensational’.

The door-in-door feature was also really popular with families, with reviews mentioning that it allowed them to keep kids’ snacks and beverages in the outer door so the main fridge door wasn’t opened as often, allowing the fridge to retain a cool temperature. The door notifications were also appreciated by reviewers with children who had a tendency to leave the doors open.

Should you buy the LG LMXS30796S French door refrigerator?

This is one of the most innovative French door fridge freezers available at the moment, but it does come with a high price tag. A lot of these features aren’t essential for those trying to buy a fridge freezer on a budget, but if you’re looking to splash that cash on a stylish and high-tech model, then the LG LMXS30796S is a fantastic choice.

It’s hard to find a French door model with better user reviews. People love the storage space and it’s been a big hit with families in particular, while the smartphone integration means you can set the fridge to work just how you want it to from wherever you are.
