When looking for the best washer dryer combos, if you need more capacity for your money, then the LG WM3998HBA is an excellent choice. Even though it’s expensive, it comes equipped with smart laundry technology to make your life easier and built-in WiFi means you can get notifications straight to an app on your smartphone when your washing cycle is done.

Given its excellent capacity and tailored features, we think the LG WM3998HBA is a washer dryer worth spending more of your money on. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Magic Chef MCSCWD27W5 washer dryer combo might be a better choice.

LG WM3998HBA: Features

The LG WM3998HBA has a capacity far larger than most washer dryers, a huge bonus point for those with large households. This means more clothes can be cleaned in less time, perfect if you often find yourself doing many wash loads a week. This machine also has improved time-saving technology for your washing, taking up to 30 minutes off each cycle, even on larger loads.

This machine also features LG 6Motion technology, in which a specific wash motion will be set based on the wash cycle. This is an added smart feature, designed to be gentle on clothes and help you get the most out of the washing experience. Best of all, the machine is designed to be as discreet as possible, with quiet operation and an anti-vibration system to prevent the machine from disturbing your household.

Certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), the LG WM3998HBA has a special ‘Allergiene’ cycle, which uses steam to prevent irritation. This will give peace of mind to any allergy sufferers, as well as the steam system used to eliminate dirt, odor, and wrinkles.

The LG WM3998HBA has 14 wash-cycles and six drying program options. This means that there is a comparably smaller range of drying cycles, a feature not uncommon in washer dryers generally. For an even more extensive range of washing cycles, check out our review for the Whirlpool WFC8090GX which has an impressive 28.

To make life as easy as possible, the LG WM3998HBA can be linked to the user's smartphone, meaning an app will send alerts as soon as their clothes are clean. And you can connect this washer dryer to your other smart home appliances too, making putting a wash on as easy as one voice command. The LG WM3998HBA is available in a sleek black color to suit a range of home decors, but this is, unfortunately, the only color option.

LG WM3998HBA: Size and dimensions

  • Width: 27 inches
  • Height: 39 inches
  • Depth: 30.25 inches

As previously mentioned, the LG WM3998HBA is a stand-out device due to its increased capacity. Unusually for machines of its kind, this machine allows for large loads to be washed and dried, saving you energy and time. The LG WM3998HBA's accompanying energy guide suggests the machine should only cost about $13 a year to run, which won’t be too much of an added expense.

Despite its size, this appliance is not notably larger than other washer dryers, making it an excellent fit for a family laundry room. You may be looking for a machine to save on space in your home and with the LG WM3998HBA, there’s no need to compromise on the size of your wash loads to do so.

In terms of dimensions, the LG WM3998HBA is 27 inches wide, 39 inches in height, and 30.25 inches deep. These are average washer dryer dimensions, meaning there shouldn’t be any sizing issues. It’s always best to check yourself, however, just how much space you have before purchasing.

In terms of installation, the LG WM3998HBA will need two people to be fitted. The guide says the only tools needed for installation are pliers and a lever, making it possible to fit yourself. As always, be sure to follow the instructions for installation provided and allow suitable airflow for your machine.
