The Saatva Classic is a luxury innerspring affair available in three different levels of firmness and a choice of two heights. It's often on sale among the best Saatva mattress discounts, so you can make up to a $200 saving on it, depending on the size you choose. Unlike other sleep brands, Saatva beds don’t arrive in a box. Instead, customers are treated to a 'white glove' delivery directly to their bedroom. This also means there’s no waiting for the Saatva Classic to expand.

The Saatva Classic Mattress is chiropractor approved and made with lumbar support with a euro top cushion for lower back and joint pain relief, putting it among the best mattress online options for anyone experiencing back or neck pain.

The foam used in the Saatva Classic Mattress is CertiPUR-US certified, while the other materials are eco-friendly. Because of this breathable foam, the Classic also features in our best cooling mattress guide for hot sleepers.

Saatva Classic Mattress review: Price and sizes

The Saatva Classic Mattress ranges between $699 and $1,599, and the company doesn't  charge any extra for the customization. So if you’d prefer a 14.5” over an 11”, for example, you don’t have to miss out because of a higher price point.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that you’re getting a more traditional mattress than the regular internet offerings; this mattress is delivered direct to your room of choice and can be used straight away.

The Helix Mattress is a little cheaper, with the best Purple mattress deals often throw up discounts on the Purple Mattress, which is similar to the Saatva Classic. We'd also recommend looking at the best Casper mattress deals if you want a cheaper mattress in a box.

The RRP of the Saatva mattress ranges from $699 for a twin to $1599 for a Cal King. Pricing is as follows: Twin $699 | Twin XL $799 | Full $1049 | Queen $1199 | King $1599 | Cal King $1599

  • Designed for back health
  • Multiple firmness options
  • Good motion isolation

The Saatva Classic Mattress was designed for customers who experience back and joint pain. The luxurious euro pillow top provides contouring support to help cushion the back, hips and shoulders whilst the lumbar zone support technology helps with optimal spinal alignment. They also have the seal of approval from The Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, which gives you excellent peace of mind.

The Saatva Classic Mattress comes in three firmness options. You can opt for plush soft if you enjoy a soft bed that you can melt in to, and this is a particularly good option for side sleepers.  Saatva also makes one of the best bed toppers for side sleepers.

Then there's the luxury firm option which is actually the same type of firmness you’d experience if you were staying at a high-end hotel: great for couples, or if you’re a combination sleeper. Finally, there’s the firm option, which is perfect for heavier body types or if you tend to sleep on your back or stomach.

One of our favorite features of the Saatva Classic Mattress is how - considering it has springs - any movement is completely isolated. So if you’re moving around a lot at night, or up and down, your partner won’t notice. This is down to the coils being individually wrapped, meaning that they are isolated from every other coil and suspended in a way that eliminates vibration. The Saatva Zenhaven puts in a similar performance, but costs a little more.

Saatva Classic Mattress review: Features

  • Multiple firmness options
  • Euro-style pillow top
  • High bounce

The Saatva Classic Mattress comes in one base model with firmness and height options. You can choose between 11.5 inches or 14.5 inches in height with the top layer being a 1.25-inch layer of foam known as euro-style pillow top which aids pressure relief and gives the mattress a more luxurious feel.

The next layer is split between memory foam and coils - with the center third of the mattress using memory foam as lumbar support to relieve back tension. The final layer is made up of 7-inch steel hourglass-shaped support coils to provide support, prevent sagging and help with the air circulation, not to mention giving a good amount of bounce.

The Saatva Classic Mattress also benefits from amazing edge support because it includes foam rails around the perimeter of the bed, so it feels softer and offers consistent support. Ideal if you move around a lot at night.

Saatva uses eco-friendly materials so if you are looking to be more environmentally friendly when choosing your next mattress then this could be the one for you. They use recycled steel for the coils, bio-based foams, and organic cotton in the cover.

Saatva Classic Mattress review: User reviews

Saatva claims that the Saatva Classic Mattress is one of its most popular offerings and, looking at the user reviews, we can see that’s right. Customers rave about the experience of buying from Saatva, especially those who were nervous about buying a mattress online. They also have high praise for the comfort levels.

The 120-night trial period also had a big thumbs up from a variety of customers, although most people say they felt the results of such a comfortable and well-designed mattress straight away.

Should you buy the Saatva Classic Mattress?

We think for the price, the Saatva Classic Mattress is extremely good value for money, even if it’s more expensive than some competitors. We love that it comes in just one model but you can choose which thickness and comfort level you’d like, and the price doesn’t differ regardless of the comfort size or height you choose.

Saatva offers a ‘slightly over the industry-standard’ trial period, with 120 nights, so you can get a true feel of how comfortable you find the mattress. If you change your mind within the first 120 days you can return it no questions asked but you will be charged a $99 transportation fee, unlike most internet mattress retailers who offer free returns.

If you’re looking for a mattress that will provide you with excellent support as well as giving you that luxury hotel feeling, you can’t go wrong with the Saatva Classic Mattress.
