It’s the smart features that set the Samsung RF23M8570SG apart from the rest of the best French door refrigerators. With a 21.5-inch touchscreen that allows you to be connected and entertained on the outside while letting you monitor your food inside. With 22.2 cubic feet of capacity, it might not be the largest french door fridge freezer on the market, but that’s still plenty of room for grocery storage, even for a large family. The best side-by-side refrigerators tend to have larger freezers, so check out our reviews for more options. For the Samsung RF23M8570SG review, keep reading.

Samsung RF23M8570SG review: Price

The Samsung Family Hub French Door Fridge Freezer has an RRP of $4,699.00 but is currently available on the Samsung website with $1,000 off at $3,699.00. Even with the discount, it does sit towards the higher end of the market, but that should be expected from a great quality french door fridge freezer that also has such a range of smart features.

Samsung RF23M8570SG review: Design/features

The smart features of the Samsung Family Hub French Door Fridge Freezer are built to support family life, from the custom home screen with a family board that allows you to add calendars, virtual post-it notes and photos, to its ability to connect to other Samsung smart devices. This allows you to monitor and control your home from your fridge, for example, you can see live video of your baby via a baby monitor or receive end of laundry cycle notifications from your washing machine. Three cameras inside the fridge also allow you to check on the contents from the smart screen without so much as opening the door.

Samsung RF23M8570SG: Key specs

Overall capacity: 22.2 cubic feet
Freezer capacity: 6.6 cubic feet
Refrigerator shelves: 5
Refrigerator door bins: 7
Through Door Dispenser: Ice & Water Dispenser

Inside the fridge is yet another smart feature, a water pitcher with infuser that is automatically topped up from the water dispenser, providing cold water whenever you need it.

In terms of non-smart features, this fridge freezer does come with a through-the-door water and ice dispenser, two evaporators to separately maintain the fridge and freezer humidity levels as well as a good family-sized capacity of 22.2 cubic feet - more than the Bosch B36CL80SNS, but not a match for the LG LMXS30796S.

Samsung RF23M8570SG review: User reviews

User reviews tend to rate the Samsung Family Hub French Door Fridge Freezer at an average of 3 out of 5. Reviews tend to be positive about the look of the fridge freezer, noting that it is sleek and stylish, while the photo screensaver option is good for adding a personal touch. A number of reviews note that they enjoy using the music feature to entertain them while they cook. The auto-fill water pitcher also seems to be a big hit, with reviewers noting that, aside from the smart features, it’s one of their favorite features.

It’s worth noting that a number of reviews have reported problems with the ice dispenser freezing over with replacement units being needed, while some have also experienced connectivity problems with the smart features, but overall, reviews are positive.

Should you buy the Samsung RF23M8570SG French door refrigerator?

If you already have a range of Samsung smart devices in your home, you’ll see the biggest return on this fridge freezer as you’ll quickly have a kitchen-based control point, as well as a great fridge freezer. Samsung has really tailored the smart offerings around family life too, taking the organisation of family life online and into a fridge. But if you’re not at all interested in the smart features then you’ll find cheaper models, without the smart features, perform just as well.

It doesn’t have the biggest capacity you’ll find on the market, but it’s still plenty big enough for a large family.
