Pros / This service offers in-store and same day pickup.

Cons / You cannot print recipients’ addresses on envelopes.

Verdict / Walgreens Photo is a great choice if you need a project made fast. The paper and image quality aren’t the best, but it’s far from being the worst we’ve seen.

Walgreens Photo is low priced compared to many of the other photo card services we ordered from. The image quality might not be the best, but this company can get your photo orders to you quickly, which makes it ideal when you’re in a jam. Just be prepared to address and mail the envelopes yourself as Walgreens Photo doesn’t offer a mailing service.

For $35 you can purchase as many as 20 cards on matte photo paper. This cost includes taxes and shipping. It only costs $0.99 per card when ordering a pack of the least expensive paper option. In comparison, we found in our testing that the the average cost per card for a pack of 15 cards is about $1.82. The more cards you add to your order, the less expensive the price gets per card. The standard shipping for Walgreens cards is about $10. This service also charges tax but it didn’t total more than $1.50 for our order. The shipping and tax prices will change depending on the state you live in and how far you are from a Walgreens Photo printer. We purchased two 20-card packs, one printed on matte photo paper while the other was printed on 85 lb cardstock. The cardstock cards looked green and pale compared to the actual images we submitted. The images were a bit grainy as well. The wood background even looked off color. We did appreciate the backside of the cards having a matching wooden background, but the coloring didn’t seem right. In case it matters to you, the Walgreens logo gets printed on the backside in white.

The colors on the matte photo paper did print more accurately and the wooden background looked more vibrant and festive. However, the fine text at the bottom of the page hardly showed up and some of the darker parts of the images looked really murky. The photos weren’t grainy but did look a bit blurry. Overall, the cards and the accompanying envelopes were lower quality than many of the others. But they’d still do alright in a pinch.

When creating your cards, The Walgreens Photo interface gives you warning if your images are too small to print. In addition to the matte photo paper and cardstock options we chose, you can also choose glossy photo paper and premium cardstock. You’ll find foil finish cards on this site and plenty of designs to choose from. However, this service does not create custom postage stamps, neither do they print recipients’ addresses. You’ll need to address and mail the cards yourself. We weren’t given any envelope color options so you’ll have to make do with regular white.

Walgreens Photo covers a variety of holidays and special occasions whether it be for a birthday, holiday, wedding or birth announcement. While this service covers more holidays than many other lower end services, we did notice that it didn’t cover as many as our top picks. This service doesn’t offer ornament cards either.

You cannot order individual cards. The minimum number your can purchase is a pack of 20. If you need your purchase in a hurry, select themes can be chosen for same day pickup or you can pay $9.99 for express shipping. If you have questions about your order or the creation process, contact a Walgreens associate via phone, email or chat. You’ll also find info on the FAQs page.

Walgreens Photo isn’t the best choice when it comes to image integrity, but this service can print fast and offers plenty of themes and festive holiday graphics to choose from. It’s the perfect service to use when in a time crunch. Considering the low price, it’s not a bad choice for anyone on a budget.
