Pros / This electric razor has an extra-long battery life of 90 minutes.
Cons / It does not come with a charging dock or cleaning station.
Verdict / The Wahl LifeProof is a good electric razor that does everything well, though it lacks a few important accessories.
While most electric razors we tested cost well over $100, this one does not. As this is the least expensive unit we tested, we were impressed by its performance and features that make it a good value razor if you're on a budget.
This razor did surprisingly well in our hands-on tests, earning a 92 out of 100 in performance and ease of use. After using the razor for four shaves, our tester remarked that this electric razor did better than the ones he used in the past. He also responded that the razor was smooth and did not hurt his face.
In addition to above-average performance, the Wahl Lifeproof excels at battery life. At a rating of 90 minutes of battery time, this electric razor has the longest life of all the razors we reviewed. However, it only has one shaving setting, while some razors offer as many as five. This single shaving setting shouldn't be an issue if you only want to stay clean shaven, but those who want the trimmed stubble look will be disappointed.
As for design, this unit is average in weight at 1.5 pounds. Its long battery life also takes a bit longer to recharge than other razors at 1.5 hours. The Wahl LifeProof does come with numerous convenient features, such as quick charge and a precision trimmer, that other premium electric razors have as well. This razor lacks some convenience features such as a charging dock and cleaning station. If this is an important feature for you, the Remington Smart Edge is an affordable razor with a cleaning dock.
In regard to warranty and accessories, the five-year warranty of the LifeProof is much longer than the average two years of other razors we reviewed, but this unit does not come with a charging dock or cleaning station. If those are key accessories for you, we suggest the Braun Series 3 as an inexpensive razor that has them.

The Wahl LifeProof is an inexpensive electric razor with decent shaving performance. Its numerous features and long battery life make it convenient to use, but its lack of a few accessories may be off-putting to some.
