Pros / This is the only one with a mopping feature.
Cons / This is relatively expensive and noisy.
Verdict / The bObsweep bObi Pethair Plus was great for suction on hardwood flooring but it was not as self-sufficient as some others.
The bObsweep bObi Pethair Plus was loud and large but it did an excellent job of cleaning hardwood flooring in our tests. It also is a little more user friendly than most, which might make it good if you are buying your first robotic vacuum cleaner.
The most noticeable thing about this vacuum was its size. It is the largest one we tested in this round, at least in terms of height and diameter. That made it a less valuable player when it was time to go under lower furniture. This one also struggled quite a bit to go over flooring transitions. It needed help to get unstuck on one threshold that goes from hardwood flooring to tile. It did alright on other things, though. It wove in and around the table legs very smoothly.
It performed well on the suctions tests. It knocked a little bit of breakfast cereal out of the testing area but otherwise the floor was completely clean after that round of testing. This machine missed only a bit of kitty litter in one corner but it picked up almost everything. That cannot be said of most machines we tested.
It was not the very best on pet hair, but pretty good. It maybe should better with pet hair considering its name. It left behind one tuft of hair and it also had some hair wrapped very tightly around the brush roll at the end of the test.
One of the most impressive things about this vacuum's cleaning capabilities is not related to suction at all. It is one of the few out there that is designed to mop and sterilize in addition to vacuuming. If you have a lot of tile that might be a great bonus.
This one was easy to use because its interface uses plain English. It displays messages in first person from the robot, like "I feel like something is wrong in my dustbin." The messages are lit up, so it is easy to know how to get the robot cleaning again. It also comes with a remote control, which is easier than a smartphone app in most cases.
The bObi Pethair Plus was less convenient in other ways. It was the loudest one we tested by far, so you can't have a conversation in the same room. It also had the shortest running time, so it might not even clean a whole room before it needs to recharge. It also takes a long time to fully recharge.
The bObsweep bObi Pethair Plus is loud, expensive and big. That being said, it did a very respectable job of cleaning hardwood flooring and it has some features that make it pretty easy to use.
