Eureka has been a trusted name in home cleaning for over 100 years. Its latest release, the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, shows how far the brand has come in measuring up to the best wet/dry vacuum cleaners on the market today.
Founded in Detroit in 1909, Eureka built its reputation on innovative vacuum designs - and the J15 Pro Ultra is no exception. This high-tech robot vacuum has features to simplify cleaning, from simultaneous mopping and vacuuming to intelligent sensors that map out your home.
The self-cleaning J15 Pro Ultra promises to navigate your home precisely, avoiding obstacles while delivering a thorough clean with an impressive suction power of 16,200 Pa. Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: Price & availability
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra retails for $999.99; however, it's often discounted and can be picked up even cheaper when on sale. It's available directly from Eureka and other retailers, such as Amazon.
Its price places it in the higher price bracket for robot vacuums, reflecting its advanced features and premium design. However, Eureka also provides a 2-year warranty on parts and labor, reassuring you of the expensive outlay.
At this price, the J15 Pro Ultra is more expensive than models like the Dyson WashG1 Wet Floor Cleaner ($699.99) and the Eufy X10 Pro Omni ($799.99), both of which include features such as self-emptying bases. However, the J15 Pro Ultra justifies its cost with precise mapping technology, super-strong suction, and excellent app-based controls, which allow custom cleaning schedules and real-time video 'patrol' monitoring.
While it may not suit every budget, the J15 Pro Ultra is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable and highly capable robot vacuum, mainly if smart functionality and performance are priorities.

Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: Setup
Setting up the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra was straightforward and hassle-free. The vacuum arrived securely packaged in a sturdy box neatly organized in custom-molded cardboard. Inside, I found all the essential components, including the side brush, base station, robot, and versatile multi-voltage power adapter.
The power adapter was incredibly convenient, with sliders to switch between US, UK, and EU plug types. This made it easy to get started without worrying about compatibility.
Attaching the side brushes and mops was also simple; all components snapped into place quickly without any tools. The clean and dirty water tanks are also easily handled and slot smoothly into the base station.
The instructions are clear and helpful, but most of the assembly feels self-explanatory. From unboxing and setting up the app to running its first exploratory cleaning cycle, it took me about 15 minutes to get the J15 Pro Ultra set up and ready to go, although I had to wait around an hour for it to charge up fully. The process was quick and effortless, making a great first impression.

Eureka J15 Pro Ultra : Design
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra is thoughtfully designed, featuring a sleek, modern aesthetic that blends seamlessly into any home. Available in black or white, its matte finish looks great and helps resist fingerprints and smudges.
Unlike traditional round robot vacuums, the J15 Pro Ultra has a rounded-square design, which allows for tighter cleaning along edges and corners. At 4.61 inches, it has a slightly taller profile than most robots. This is because it also uses a LiDAR navigation tower and RGB camera, which enhance its mapping capability and object detection.
The base station complements the vacuum well, although it may be a little bulky for smaller homes, measuring 15.6 × 18.0 × 18.4 inches. However, this is because it houses two 0.8-gallon water tanks—one for clean water and one for dirty water, providing an all-in-one solution for self-cleaning. The station also supports key features like automatic mop washing with hot water, hot air drying for the mop pads, and powerful suction for debris collection. While it lacks an automatic cleaning agent refill, the setup more than makes up for it with its efficiency and reliability.
Pairing the J15 Pro Ultra with the Eureka app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is pretty simple, guided by a QR code under the vacuum’s hinged cover. The process takes around five minutes. The app is well-designed, making it easy to customize cleaning schedules, zones, and modes. You can even set AI cleaning functions, such as adjusting mopping temperature based on humidity and temperature or strategically cleaning key areas when it identifies liquid or particle spills - more on how that fared in our testing.
I liked the little ‘Flex-arm’ that pops out when the J15 Pro Ultra approaches the the edges. Not only is it super cute, but it also means it’s getting as close as 0.05 to the walls. The main roller brush also features innovative ‘FlexiRazor’ blades that prevent hair tangles by cutting any hair—a great feature if you live in a home with pets or long-haired family members!
Score: 8/10
Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: Performance
Over two weeks of testing the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra at home, I assessed its performance on liquids and debris types on hard floors, including thick sauces, sticky honey, milk, spilled cereal, oats, and flour.
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra handled particles like flour and oats exceptionally well. Its rotating front brush swept debris under the robot for vacuuming. While it took a few passes to clear everything (as is familiar with robot vacuums), not a single particle was left behind.
Edge cleaning was particularly impressive, thanks to the retractable mops at the back of the unit and the 'Flex-arm,' which allowed it to get remarkably close to edges—closer than any other high-end robot vacuum I’ve tested.
In spot-cleaning mode, the J15 Pro Ultra efficiently tackled a puddle of spilled milk and a streak of tomato sauce, repeatedly turning in the area to mop up the liquid. Although thorough, it had to return to the base station three times for mop cleaning, which felt excessive and extended the overall cleaning time. However, it’s reassuring to know the J15 Pro Ultra uses hot water to clean its mops and avoids cleaning your floor with dirty tools—an especially handy feature for homes with pets or children. After cleaning, the vacuum marked the spillages on the map with a green tick, indicating completion.
The mapping technology is remarkably detailed. It even identifies items like the bin, the pet bowl, and my feet in the kitchen—something I’ve never seen in other robot vacuums.
The app offers multiple cleaning modes, such as deep clean, quick clean, and fully clean, and includes customizable options like "after-dinner cleaning" or "sweeping before mopping."
The J15 Pro Ultra performed impressively on carpets, efficiently removing pet hair and debris. It even informed me that it was cutting any tangled hair during self-cleaning.
The vacuum integrates seamlessly with voice assistants like Google Assistant and Alexa via the Eureka app. It uses automatic LED headlights to illuminate its environments in low light levels, underneath a sofa, for example, or in the evening.
It maintains an impressively low noise level of around 45 dB during operation, ensuring it won’t disrupt your household routines. However, noise levels rise during self-cleaning - up to 65 dB when self-emptying and 55 dB while washing the mops.
Its navigation is smooth and precise, effortlessly maneuvering around furniture and obstacles without getting stuck. Unlike every other robot vacuum I’ve tested, which often needed rescuing from rugs or chair bases, the J15 Pro Ultra handled these challenges flawlessly.
While you can go for days without manually emptying the dust bin cartridge or the dirty water tank, emptying both is easy. Simply lift out the dirty water tank and pour away, while you can access the dust bin cartridge by lifting the flap on the robot unit itself.
If you’re looking for a powerful, stylish, and user-friendly robot vacuum that excels at vacuuming and mopping, the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra is an excellent choice.
Score: 9/10
Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential to keeping your Eureka J15 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop running smoothly.
Clean the base station, dust collector, and other key parts as the manual recommends. This helps prevent build-up and maintain strong suction power.
For items like the roller brush and side brush, weekly cleaning is recommended, while deeper cleans every few months - like rinsing the water tanks and wiping down the debris tray - help ensure long-term performance. Keeping up with these simple maintenance tips will ensure your robot vac stays efficient and your home stays clean.
Score: 8/10
Eureka J15 Pro Ultra: User reviews
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop has a mix of feedback on Amazon but manages to hold on to an impressive 4.5 stars out of 5.
Many users appreciate its self-cleaning base, strong suction, and efficient vacuuming and mopping, particularly in households with pets. Features like the self-emptying base, hot water wash, and anti-tangle technology are often praised. One user said, 'The hot water washing and anti-tangle technology have been game-changers, saving me so much time,' while another noted, 'The suction power is impressive, effortlessly removing pet hair and debris.'
On the other hand, some reviewers have reported minor performance issues. A few users found the suction on carpets and hardwoods inconsistent, with one saying, 'It struggles to pick up larger debris from carpets, leaving some dirt behind.' Some users have also encountered difficulties with the LiDAR navigation system, with one user stating, 'After just 15 minutes, the robot stopped due to a LiDAR error. I’ve read similar complaints online about LiDAR units getting stuck.'
Would I buy the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra?
The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra is a strong choice if you want a high-performance cleaner that vacuums and mops simultaneously, with powerful suction and precise navigation. Its self-cleaning system adds convenience, but the high price might be a drawback. It's an excellent option for those seeking premium, hands-off cleaning, provided your budget allows, but you can find similarly impressive robot vacuums for a few hundred dollars less.

How does the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra compare?
While the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra does a great job cleaning carpets and hard floors, it comes with a hefty price tag. Other wet/dry vacs may be a smarter bet if you're on a budget, such as the Ultenic AC1 Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum. It vacuums and mops hard floors simultaneously, saving you precious time on cleaning. With 45 minutes of runtime per charge, it’s a handy choice for quick clean-ups, though it won't handle carpets like the J15.
If you want something similar to the J15 Pro Ultra but want a better user experience on the app, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni could be correct for you. You can set no-go zones, cleaning intensity, cleaning mode (mop or vacuum or Smart clean, which uses both intelligently), cleaning schedules, and much more. You can also connect it to your Amazon Alexa, a doddle. However, the Eufy doesn't boast the same powerful suction as the J15 Pro Ultra.
If you're after something a little more stylish than the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, the Yeedi Mop Station Pro features a glossy white design and many of the same features. However, it can't store multiple maps, and the mops don't reach the edges.
