Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge: Features

The Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge measures 17.5 x 18.5 x 26.6 inches, so it can fit under a desk or countertop or in a corner – you just need to leave enough room around it for air to freely circulate. Also, at 46.3 pounds, this is one of the lighter mini fridges we reviewed, so it’s easy to move. If you're looking for something a little larger, read our Magic Chef MCBR440S2 mini fridge review.

The Black & Decker mini fridge is also quiet, so it won’t distract you while you work or sleep, making it ideal for dorms or offices.

In addition, this Black & Decker model is Energy Star certified and costs only about $25 per year in electricity to operate.

One of the BCRK25W’s best features is its reversible door – you can attach the door to either the left side or the right side. As such, you can choose for the door to swing open either to the left or the right, depending on which works best for the place you want to put it.

This fridge includes two slide-out glass shelves you can set in three positions to accommodate different size foods. The inside of the fridge and its removable glass shelves are easy to clean. However, when it comes to defrosting the Black & Decker BCRK25W, you will have to do this manually as there isn't an auto-defrost function.

The refrigerator door has a small top shelf, and below that sits a can dispenser that fits five soda cans as well as a space for a 2-liter bottle. The BCRK25W comes with an ice cube tray, and its freezer is reasonably roomy, extending the full width of the top of the fridge. To adjust the fridge's temperature, a knob is located next to the freezer.

The Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge comes in three finishes: white, black, and brushed metal. Black & Decker includes a one-year warranty on parts and labor and a two-year warranty on the compressor parts.

Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge: User reviews

The Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge scored an average of 4.2 out of five on Amazon.

Five star reviews state that 'the fridge can store quite a bit. I've been happy with being able to store full-size condiments and having adjustable shelves for that'. Another user added 'it's one of the best things I've ever bought and I only wish I'd bought it years ago.'

Obviously, not all reviews are gleaming and some of the one star reviews state that this fridge 'does not get cold' and 'it's moderately loud'.

Should you buy the Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge?

The Black & Decker BCRK25W mini fridge is energy efficient and ideal for keeping drinks and small amounts of food cool. Its reversible door makes it very practical but it is lacking an auto defrost function, as well as a larger capacity that some other mini fridges offer.
