SimpliSafe, one of the top selections of home security companies in our list of the best home security systems, has added to its portfolio with the launch of the SimpliSafe Smart Lock.

Smart locks can be bulky and and eye-sore when attached to your front door. But measuring just 0.9 inches thick, SimpliSafe says its new smart lock will be the thinnest on the market when it starts shipping in September.

Priced at $99, the Smart Lock features an automated timer that secures your door 60 seconds after you close it.

Other key Smart Lock features include the ability to arm it, disarm it, and monitor activity remotely from your mobile device via the SimpliSafe companion app, which lets you control all aspects of your system.

You can also use a physical PIN, keyfob, or your original door key to unlock the Smart Lock when you return home.

Like SimpliSafe's other home security products, the Smart Lock is Alexa-enabled, so you when you say, "Alexa, arm SimpliSafe," it will arm itself at the same time as any other SimpliSafe locks or sensors you might have.

The SimpliSafe Smart Lock will be available from September 15 on SimpliSafe's website in three finishes – nickel, cloud, and obsidian. It will also come to Best Buy on October 13, where online pre-orders open on October 1.
