The Greenworks 60 Volt 18” chainsaw is a lightweight cordless electric chainsaw that is portable, easy to use, and reasonably priced, making it one of the best chainsaws around. This chainsaw is a great heavy-duty saw for trimming branches and cutting logs up to 10”, that, combined with its large 4.0 AH battery will keep you working longer.

While this chainsaw is not the cheapest in the shop, the mix of power, features, bar length and accessories makes it very competitive. Lowes is selling the saw, 4.0 AH battery and charger, scabbard and heavy-duty box for $329, which is a great deal.

This Greenworks chainsaw has a great mix of power, weight and safety features which has resulted in its many excellent reviews. It is portable, easy to start and easy to maintain while cutting. It won’t annoy the neighbors and you won’t have to pop out for more gas.

Its 18” bar makes it versatile for cutting branches, firewood and felling, while the 60-volt engine and 4.0 AH battery give the saw great power and staying power. Greenworks 4-year warranty (saw) is generally twice that of other cordless saws, which should give users peace of mind.

At around 12.5lbs the Greenworks electric chainsaw is comparable to the gas rivals in its category whilst still making it light for maneuverability and versatility. The weight, and its cordless design make it easy to carry around and reduces fatigue on arms.

The 18” bar makes this chainsaw very versatile for homeowners who need to clean up trees regularly, from taking out limbs to cutting trunks up for firewood. The 4.0 AH battery means that you’ll have less down time between charges.

This chainsaw has many standard features that users will expect with a modern electric chainsaw, such as a self-oiling chain and a push button start. However, the Greenworks 18” chainsaw also possesses a few not so common safety features, such as metal bucking spikes for pivoting bigger cuts and a low kick-back chain.

Pro Tools Reviews rates this chainsaw as a great purchase for “homeowners that have seasonal chainsaw work to do and don’t want the hassle of gas. It gives you more muscle than most electric and lower-power cordless saws without becoming unwieldy.” They really liked the power, ergonomics and safety features of the saw, especially the metal bucking spikes.

They noted that this model can come with a 2.0 AH battery, which was fine for light work but recommended moving up to a higher rated batteries if you wanted to do heavy cutting or felling.

The Pro Tools Reviews team recommended swapping out the skip-tooth chain to a common chain if you have serious cutting to do.

The Greenworks 60 Volt 18” cordless electric chainsaw scored an average of 4.5/5 from the user reviews on sites such as Lowes, Google and Amazon, with Lowes saying that 84% of users would recommend the chainsaw, based on 29 responses.

Most users were very pleased with the power of the saw, commenting that initially they were skeptical, but the saw cut so well and lasted for so long that they were converted. Some even rated the saw above previous gas saws.

Users also mentioned the weight of the chainsaw, saying how light it was, and when combined with its low noise, which was less intimidating, and push button start, recommended it for less physically able users.

A minority of users (3) were not pleased with the build quality of the saw.
