Pros / This vacuum has suction control so it can adjust for different surfaces.

Cons / It is bulky and awkward around corners.

Verdict / The Bissell CleanView is an affordable vacuum cleaner with nice tools to help make up for its limited maneuverability and merely average suction.

The Bissell CleanView One Pass is an upright vacuum cleaner that does a decent job of cleaning floors, but it’s bulky and hard to maneuver around corners and tight spaces. This is a very affordable vacuum that is good at vacuuming pet hair and has suction control for vacuuming various types of surfaces. It’s a good tool for pet owners but has some weaknesses.

This vacuum has a nice cleaning path of 12 inches, which is about average when compared with other products in our upright vacuum reviews. While you can cover a lot of ground in a relatively short time, you will you have to make a few more passes than the average machine to get your floor clean of dust and debris. In our tests cleaning flour, kitty litter and cereal, this vacuum performed about average. It was slightly above average when it came to sucking up pet hair.

The overall performance of this vacuum cleaner was improved with the addition of an uncommon suction control feature that lets you control the level of suction on different surfaces. You can increase the suction on low profile carpet or decrease suction on thick carpeting that is hard to push the vacuum over.

The performance of this vacuum was hurt by the lack of maneuverability. It only moves back and forth and is extremely clunky around corners. You can vacuum with the handle close to the ground, however, which allowed us to push the vacuum far under a console, but other tight areas were more challenging. For a more maneuverable vacuum, consider the Shark NV800.

Fortunately, this vacuum has a nice selection of accessories like an extension wand, upholstery tool, dusting brush and a crevice tool. It also has a hose you can attach some of these tools to for vacuuming stairs and under furniture. You can keep these attachments organized and within reach when you need them since there are storage nodules on the body of the machine.

This vacuum has a bagless design and is extremely easy to empty and clean, which isn’t always the case. The clean filter indicator is a nice feature to let you know when it’s time to spend a little extra time cleaning the interior of the machine.

With suction control, the Bissell CleanView One Pass will let you vary how much suction you use over different surfaces, which helps the overall performance of this vacuum. While it did an effective job of ridding carpet of pet hair, it performed about average when vacuuming up other debris, both course and fine. Its maneuverability was limited, so it was nice to have the hose and various attachments like a crevice tool to get into tight areas.
