Pros / Your Snapfish orders can be picked up at Walgreens Photo or Walmart Photo.

Cons / You cannot choose between various envelope colors or inner linings.

Verdict / While Snapfish has one of the best holiday libraries and offers decently priced cards, we found the quality varies with the printing.

Snapfish offers a wide selection of photo cards, with a handful of personalization options and features to make card creation easy. There are many designs available for creating photo holiday cards, invitations and announcements. You can even start your card using a blank card template. However, there are not as many embellishments, like embossing and glitter, as you get with competing photo card services.

The minimum number of cards you can order is 20. If you order on the least expensive paper, you can get 20 cards for under $35, making this one of the least expensive services on the market. For our order, standard shipping was roughly $6 and tax was closer to $1.80. These prices will change depending on the state you live in and the time of year you make your purchase.

Snapfish had mixed reviews among our testers. We ordered two Christmas cards, one on matte photo paper and the other on premium cardstock. The matte photo card printed true to color, with good image clarity. Testers especially liked the coloring of the graphics as they popped on the page. Please note that Snapfish’s name is printed on the backside of the card, in case that bothers anyone. The cardstock was sturdy, however, the photos and graphics came out in a pale green hue that made the premium card look amateurish, especially when next to the matte photo card. Print clarity was decent if not a little blurred. This card is double sided and features a continuation of the front design. You’ll also find the Snapfish logo printed on the bottom middle.

The cards were rather slow to arrive in the mail, taking seven business days from the day they were ordered to the day they arrived. Another complaint with our testers was the plain envelope it came in, which was rather flimsy and did nothing to enhance the card. That was a small complaint however. You cannot choose between different envelope colors and there are no envelope linings. Additionally, we discovered that this service doesn’t allow you to print recipients’ addresses and therefore doesn’t offer a mailing service either.

Snapfish got a perfect score for template selection with all kinds of holiday photo cards for all the major holidays. Unfortunately, the cards when you buy in bulk cost more than the majority of services on our site, with 10 cards costing roughly $25. This service is also lacking in search filters on the website. You can’t filter by photo orientation, photo quantity, size or price range. This will create a little more work for you when exploring your options on the website.

Snapfish works with Walmart Photo and Walgreens Photo to print your works at a brick and mortar location. Unfortunately, you cannot order same day pickup, but it usually only takes about 3 days for your order to be ready. Some designs are only available through one of the pickup locations so make sure you have the right store near you if you want to go this route.

Outside of card making, Snapfish’s greatest strength is customer service. Its representatives are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the card-making and ordering processes. Snapfish's 100 percent satisfaction guarantee offers a full refund or card replacement if you are dissatisfied with your order. This online card store also offers several support resources if you have any questions or concerns while using the service. Depending on your questions, email, telephone and live chat are available for communicating with a customer service representative.

Photo cards are different from other products because bulk is better. The more cards and envelopes you order, the lower the price per card. This is especially convenient because envelopes are included in your orders, no matter the size. This photo card maker can also add customized address labels to match the design of your card. This can save time that you'd spend addressing each envelope individually. You must do your final review of the product digitally. While this gives you an idea of how your cards will appear, it does not give you an accurate image of how your photos will translate to print.

The site offers a wide selection of designs with customizable elements on the front and back of the cards. They cost a bit more, but it is nice to have that flexibility. The two-sided designs are only printed on heavyweight paper, but the option is available. With an upgrade to premium card sets, Snapfish will print the return address directly on the envelope for you. Once you find a design template you like, you can add photos and text that fit nicely. The site offers a color pallet window so that you can get the look just right. Paper choices include glossy photo-style paper, matte photo paper and writable cardstock.

Snapfish is one of the best photo picture card services because it offers features such as customized address labels and some of the best template selections in our testing. The holiday cards we ordered through the company’s website got high card and design quality scores from our testers. However, it lacks web search options like photo orientation and price range filters to customize your search. Still, you can rest assured that Snapfish provides quality cards and outstanding customer service.
