Protect America is an authorized GE security dealer based out of Austin, Texas, that provides wireless home surveillance systems with no activation or installation fees – unprecedented in the home alarm industry. With Protect America’s product offerings, you can select a surveillance package for a reasonable monthly fee and then upgrade your service from there, adding the items that would be most beneficial to your specific circumstances.

Protect America offers a majority of the alerts that you typically see in the best wireless security systems. With all Protect America monitoring packages, the system alerts you when doors open, when there is movement in the house and when people approach your home. Other available alerts include smoke and carbon monoxide detection, freeze sensors, flood protection, personal safety and power failure. However, the availability of each of these alerts depends largely on the equipment you choose for your system. Protect America does not include an alert for natural gas leaks, citing that there is low market demand.

In the initial, starter surveillance package, you receive a GE Simon XT Control Panel, three window decals, one security yard sign, three door sensors and one window sensor. From there, you can customize your package by adding elements like motion sensors, glass-break sensors, garage door sensors, security cameras and more. By offering additional devices independently, Protect America allows you to adapt your system to the specific needs of your home.

With Protect America, you can rest assured that no matter what happens, your home is safe with 24 hour monitoring and three different monitoring stations. This means that when your alarm goes off, it sends a signal to one of Protect America’s three facilities. If the signal fails, one of the other two facilities there will swoop in and pick up the call.

Depending on your preference, you can choose whether to alarm your home with a cellular, broadband or landline connection. It's best if you choose cellular for your wireless home surveillance system, as it is impervious to line cutting and signal dropping. In the event that an intruder smashes your wireless system, a signal goes out to a Protect America support center.

If you would like interactive monitoring options or home automation with your wireless home surveillance system, an upgrade to a premium plan is required. With these two features, you can monitor and control the inner workings of your surveillance system with a free mobile app. The app can arm or disarm the system, control the lighting while you're away and work with most smartphones. With Protect America, the price you sign up with will be the price you pay for the length of your contract.

Whatever your needs, Protect America's wireless home surveillance system can be tailored to you. Once you pick a starter package, you can upgrade to only those extra elements you need. The interactive monitoring options are particularly useful. With the free app, you can check on your home, arm or disarm your system, and set your lights to turn on at a specific time from the convenience of your smartphone. Overall, this is a great choice for a wireless home security system.
