RYOBI RY803001 3000-PSI Power Control: Design

  • Bulky design
  • Heavy at 57 pounds
  • large 12-inch flat-free wheels

While many gas washers are hefty and unattractive, the RYOBI 3000-PSI Power Control has a compact yet durable hard track design. Fairly heavy at 57 pounds, its large 12-inch flat-free wheels are designed for easy maneuvreability and transportation, even when going up the stairs. It also has a handy, quick release handle so that you can store it away neatly.

RYOBI RY803001 3000-PSI Power Control: Performance

  • Takes less the 5 minutes to set-up
  • Separate oil and gas tank
  • Can run out within 45-90 minutes of continual use

The RYOBI 3000-PSI Power Control is easy to set-up, taking less than 5 minutes. It has a pull start but unlike some washers that can take a few pulls, this starts immediately. With a separate oil and gas tank, it is supplied with 10W30 small engine oil and it is recommended to check the oil level after each use. It is slightly noisy, but not as loud as other gas pressure washers, and it runs smoothly with no vibration.

If you need to buy extra nozzles to use with this, make sure to purchase the nozzles that fit with the quick-connect and that are rated for 3,000 PSI.

While it’s not necessary to use soap to clean, you’re advised to use specific pressure washer detergent. However, the RYOBI 3000-PSI Power Control is strong and delivers 2.3 gallons of water per minute - enough to do a very good job without detergent. This has proved well for cleaning patios, paving and driveways.

Just take precautions when washing your car as you don’t want to burn through the clearcoat. A useful tip is to pick a less abrasive, wide degree fan nozzle, and test in a less visible spot on the vehicle to see how the surface reacts.

It does have a smaller fuel tank, which is only a 1/4 of a gallon, so it can run out within 45-90 minutes of continual use. However, its powerful output gets rid of heavy grime in half the time of electric models.

RYOBI RY803001 3000-PSI Power Control: User Reviews

  • Rated highly among users
  • Users like how easy it is to use
  • Some find the hose stiff and easily tangled

The RYOBI 3000-PSI Power Control rated high on Home Depot with 96% of customers recommending this washer. The majority of users reported on how user-friendly it is and easy to set up. They have been impressed by its powerful high-pressure to tackle their medium-to-heavy duty, cleaning tasks.

More importantly, users have commented on the short time it takes to take on tough outdoor jobs, like driveways, decking and sidewalks - which would usually take hours on end. One user even reported they had cleared over 20 years of algae and grime off their driveway in less than two hours!

On the other hand, a few have complained that the hose is stiff and gets tangled easily since you cannot wind it. Another common gripe has been the fuel running out quickly– with one user reporting their tank ran out after 45 minutes of continuous cleaning. But this also depends on how much pressure you are using for the specific job.

Should you buy the RYOBI RY803001 3000-PSI Power Control gas pressure washer?

If you are looking for a reasonably priced gas washer, the RYOBI 3000-PSI Power Control is highly recommended for both performance and affordability. The RYOBI 3,000 is powerful enough to carry out various residential tasks in half the time it would take with an electric model. It’s 5-in-1 change-over nozzle feature means you can easily adapt the spray pressure for each job, which can also save you precious cleaning time. User-friendly and easy to transport and store with its quick release handle, it’s also significantly cheaper than other gas powered models, which makes it excellent value for money.
